What is your policy when a buyer purchases a CERTIFIED used car and later discovers the car had been in an undisclosed accident, the damage is unrepairable, and deemed unsafe to drive? Could the buyer at least expect to receive a FULL refund for the car? My name is Dominic Bourbeau. I bought a certified used 2018 Toyota Camry in June of 2022. I was told the car had never been in an accident hence it being certified. As time went on I noticed my rear tires were wearing rapidly. Although mechanics told me the tires were aligned the issue continued to occur. The car seemed to pull on wet roads which was very scary at times. Other than that it drove beautifully. In the span of a year I wore through six rear tires. Driving on wet roads worsened and was extremely unsafe. When it snowed I was the slowest person on the road slipping, sliding and white knuckled. I figured that this was the life for a sports car owner as I had never before owned a sports car. It was until a friend who owns the same car told me this is not common for this type of Camry. As I live an hour away from Rudy Luther I brought the car to my mechanic who informed me it had been in an accident, the frame was severely bent, and the car was unsafe to drive. I then brought the car back to Rudy Luther who put me up in a rental (free of charge) as the car was being fixed. I was relieved as I thought Rudy Luther acknowledged their mistake and would fix it. Maybe I would be reimbursed the money wasted on expensive tires, maybe not, at least they were fixing it. I was wrong. Seven months later a Rudy Luther salesman told me that the car is unfixable, to come into the dealership, and Rudy Luther would "make things right." Up to this point I had never heard from anyone about my car's situation. I never heard from a manager or even a mechanic for seven months. I'm a quiet person who does not like conflict and the silence didn't bother me as I was certain a reputable company like Rudy Luther was doing the right and honest thing. I was in the dark, but trusted Rudy Luther Toyota. At the dealership I was greeted by an eager salesman who seemed to know nothing about the situation. He told me the resolution to this horrible situation was to reimburse me the car's current value which had depreciated greatly. The reimbursement only covered the remaining balance of the loan. When I questioned what about the money I LOST during this whole ordeal he kept assuring me "we want to do the right thing and make this better for you." I realized I was left suddenly carless, at night, an hour away from home with work early in the morning. Somehow in my distress and utter confusion the salesman managed to sell me a NEW Camry which doubled my monthly payments. I expected my loss to go towards this pricey purchase of this car. It did not. I was out nearly 17,000.00! My loss which I expected to regain remains as follows: 8 new tires that were completely ruined. 10 days of lost work to either return and exchange my rental car and missed snow days because it was too dangerous to drive, 5,000 dollars on a down payment, 507 dollars a month for 17 months of loan payments. 240 dollar registration sticker for a car that was in a shop for 7 months. AND The extreme danger I put myself and my passengers (many children) in for a year of driving this unsafe car. I left this facility feeling so violated, robbed and taken advantage of. Never have I ever felt so used. I should have never stepped foot into this facility. Unless I am fully compensated for the money I lost in buying an unsafe certified vehicle from Rudy Luther Toyota I will be getting legal help, contacting the attorney general, directly contacting Toyota and going to the media. More

I first met with Nick about 6 months before purchasing my vehicle. Throughout the entire process Nick was excellent to work with. He listened to our wants / needs for a vehicle and above all was incredibly k vehicle. Throughout the entire process Nick was excellent to work with. We had a long window of time before we actually needed to purchase vehicle, and Nick was incredibly patient and not at all pushy with us. During this time, we continued to shop around, but ultimately came back to work with Nick for all of the reasons mentioned above. Highly recommend Nick and Rudy Luther Toyota. More
