Before signing, the salesperson told me the vehicle had only minor cosmetic damage and no engine or structural problems. The CARFAX report provided by the dealership matched that story, describing the damage as minor. Two months later, while getting unrelated repairs done, an independent body shop discovered the truth. A preliminary repair estimate totaled $8,240.42 and documented extensive front-end damage, missing components, a radiator support replacement, and unibody/frame pulling and alignment. Most shocking, the front bumper was being held on with wood screws and tore during removal. The estimate also noted that a frame rail had swung over. I am absolutely devastated and angry that my 21-year-old daughter had been driving this car. As a parent, I trusted the dealership’s representations when I purchased this vehicle for her. Now I am left wondering what risks she may have unknowingly faced every time she drove it. Her safety matters more to me than money, and the thought that I may have put my own daughter in danger because I trusted what I was told is heartbreaking. I bought this car in good faith, believing the damage was cosmetic. The independent inspection raised serious questions about the vehicle’s condition that I never expected to face after purchasing it. This is not simply about unexpected repair costs. It is about honesty, transparency, and the responsibility a dealership has to its customers.
