I was not going to leave a review, but I have received more than one email asking me to. I seldom leave negative reviews. So, here was my experience. I had a wonderful experience with Moe when choosing more than one email asking me to. I seldom leave negative reviews. So, here was my experience. I had a wonderful experience with Moe when choosing and purchasing a car. He was polite and knowledgeable, and I felt I could trust his professional opinion. I felt I could ask him as many questions as necessary, and if he did not have an answer for me, he found someone who did. I really, really, appreciate his help. However, I ran into several issues when dealing with the finance department, specifically with Mai. She would not tell me outright what I was paying for, did not give me the time to read my contract and when she did, she spoke the whole time. She kept insisting she was "giving me" a maintenance package, which I repeatedly denied. She then offered multiple times--insisted, even--that she call my parents to explain "what a great deal" she was getting me. These conversations became increasingly frustrating, and at that point it was dark out and I had been there for at least five hours. She would speak over both me and my parents, and when they would try to speak, she would roll her eyes at me and throw her arms into the air or hit her desk. This being the first time I have purchased a vehicle from a dealership, I felt that I was being backed into a corner to say yes to everything to make her life easier. She also continuously insulted my father to my face, both while she was on the phone with him and after they hung up. I can understand how relaying things in a stressful situation over the phone can be frustrating, and while I appreciate that she offered to call my parents to help, she really should not have if all she was going to do was escalate the situation and make things personal. Regardless, she looked me in the eye and told me I would be paying NOTHING for the maintenance package, which she only called "some services" and would threaten to raise my APR if I did not sign that paper. I asked her, repeatedly and in plain terms, if this would cost money, to which she said NO. Surprise! I had an early flight to see my family for the first time in a year the very next morning, so when I landed I reviewed my paperwork in more detail. It was then that I realized the "services" ended up adding $800 to my loan and was NOT required for the purchase of my vehicle. This began a very tedious back and forth between me, Mai, and my parents, all of which have been told different things. This not only cost hours of my only five days to see my family in the year, but tears and frustration of not having someone just clearly state what I was paying for. In the end I had to go back and spend another afternoon at the dealership to terminate the maintenance contract. Mai was extremely unprofessional, VERY rude, and I will never be returning to Groove Subaru. I want to stress that Moe was in no way a problem, and if anything he saved the sale with his reassurance and professional demeanor when things got stressful. I greatly appreciate how he maintained open and honest communication with us, and Mai should take a page from his book. More
