Prior to joining Exeter Subaru, I was in the footwear and sporting goods business. I was able set myself apart through a commitment to customer service, ethical business practices and listening to the needs of the customer. My customers ran the entire range of retail operations from Wal-Mart to Nordstrom and all manner of “mom and pop” businesses. My family and I call Rockport Massachusetts home today. Something about New England must appeal to me as I have lived here four different times over four decades. I was in the “Subaru cult” prior to joining Exeter Subaru. I fell in love with the performance of my Forester in the nor’easters and blizzards. I had posted my resume on the internet and never considered selling cars before. When these guys called me, I thought… “hmmm, excellent brand, superior product…yes!" It's a great team here.

All your staff were Amazing ! ! you people need to teach other dealers how it's done. I have been looking for more than 6 months and over a dozen dealerships, and it was the same r ! you people need to teach other dealers how it's done. I have been looking for more than 6 months and over a dozen dealerships, and it was the same run around salesman to sales manager to insanely low ball trade offers or good trade offers but always just out of my budget like they never heard what i said.........NEVER had that with Exeter Subaru it's was one of the easiest and pleasurable buying/leasing experiences in my life. I found you in a Facebook ad, and it caused me to call, and spoke to Jimmy a very pleasant person, and i decided to drive down, Jimmy greeted me and turned me over to Mitch, Another GREAT person we chatted told him what i was looking to do, and he showed me a car, but wasn't sure it would fit my budget, he suggested a different car, then he talked with Jimmy and came back with 2 offers one for a Cross Trak and one for an Impreza, i took the Impreza, then i was turned over to Maggie a SUPER Nice Person Who got totally where i was coming from and helped get me there. and Now i'm Driving that Impreza, i can't say it enough this dealership is the best on the seacoast (and i worked in dealers for over 40 years) Thank you Exeter Subaru for a Great Experience. The buying process was easy, Mitch sold me the car and DJ worked on any extras I asked for. Financing was a pain, Could not take no for an answer, and had to be very persistent. My trade-in had a lowball off worked on any extras I asked for. Financing was a pain, Could not take no for an answer, and had to be very persistent. My trade-in had a lowball offer that I was able to at least double, but could not match the trade-in value I had from a different dealership down the road (Seacoast Volkswagen). The biggest issue I had was after the buying process. The vehicle I bought had hail damage, and the dealership promised to address the hail for buying the car, It was even written into the contract. When picking the car up from the dealership shop, I noticed the hail damages were still there and some "repaired" locations were almost worse. I talked to DJ and he said they repaired about 90% of the damages (I disagreed) and that they did all they could. Anything extra would come out of my pocket because as far as he was concerned, they completed business with me and satisfied my contract. Since I am not a dent expert, I contacted a Dent professional in the area. After evaluating and quoting the dents, they said all dents are repairable and agreed that some locations were left worse than before (dents were reversed and rippled). Exeter Subaru only cares about car sales and not the customer... Once the car is sold, DJ wants nothing to do with your inconveniences, even if it's written into a contract. More

Where has integrity gone ? ?? Mitch sold me the car, but its obvious that's where his job ends. He told me the car had been totally gone over and was in perfect condition. I dis ?? Mitch sold me the car, but its obvious that's where his job ends. He told me the car had been totally gone over and was in perfect condition. I discussed with him that I was leaving for SC in 10 days and driving the car there. On Sunday Feb 25 the car was packed and at 7 am I went to start it and it was dead. Had to call AAA . The battery was 4 years old. The original ! Had to buy a new battery for 200 from AAA. Late start, late picking up my rider and forced to drive after dark. Took bill after return home to Mitch, on April 1. He said Daren, the manager would be back April 8 and would call me then. On April 15, still not a word. I called Subaru of America. They started a case and a case manager called later that day. He started to relate the fact of the case and had them all wrong. Basically, before he talked to me, he called the dealership and colluded with them about how to not reimburse me for the battery. Told me to call back to the dealership, Exeter Subaru. Of course nobody there wants to talk to me at this point. Eventually Daren called back with same story as the case manager.I paid the asking price for the car. Its my 5th Subaru and the 7th in my family. Basically it comes back to the question of integrity . 200 is not a lot of money, however the refusal to reimburse me speaks to the integrity of this dealership. The right thing to do, without question was to reimburse me. We have a friend who owns three dealerships in Burlington Vermont who would never treat a customer this way. Our neighbor is the sales manager at BMW who strongly suggested I write this review. This is poor customer service. More
