Disappointing Experience at Morton Mazda - Overpriced and Unfair Trade-In Practices I recently visited Morton Mazda in search of a used vehicle suitable for my family. The SUV I found initially appeared promising, offering the features and comfort I needed. However, there was a significant discrepancy in the asking price, exceeding the average market value by more than $1,000. I attempted to negotiate a reasonable price adjustment, not expecting a dramatic discount but hoping for more than the mere “It’s already competitively priced” offered. To support my request, I presented the sales representative with five comparable listings, all priced over $2,000 lower. Despite this evidence, he maintained that their vehicle was "competitively priced," which was clearly not the case. In today's market, paying above market value is simply not a sound financial decision. The dealership's valuation of my trade-in was equally disappointing. While I acknowledge my vehicle is not in pristine condition, it is in good working order. Morton Mazda offered me $2,000 less than I anticipated. To verify their offer, I obtained an instant cash offer from the same source they use, receiving $1,500 more than their valuation. When I presented this information, the sales representative simply declined my offer, which was perplexing given that I was the customer. While I understand dealerships need to make a profit, the practices I experienced felt like a blatant attempt to overcharge and undervalue. The staff was courteous, and I have no complaints about their customer service. However, their insistence on "competitive pricing" and "best car" claims seemed to mask a strategy of maximizing profit at the expense of fair dealing. I strongly advise potential buyers to conduct thorough research before purchasing from Morton Mazda. Compare prices, obtain independent valuations, and be prepared to negotiate firmly. While they may be friendly, their pricing practices are questionable. I hope this detailed account helps you make an informed decision. More

DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM HERE! Don’t even visit, no matter how good the deal might look, and especially as a Black/woman/mom. For context, I worked with Mike Hamilton, who is a liar. They have shady business practices, sold me a car that was a dud in the shop, told me they’d fix it, delivered it to me (which i had to ask for) still not working properly!!! The door didn’t open (which I 1000% believe Mike knew, but did his best to hide it during his presentation of the vehicle!) So I’ve had to take time from work multiple times and use my gas to bring it back for them to “fix it”. And it’s still not fixed (the door still doesn’t open and my cold air is still blowing warm while it’s 90 degrees outside) so I’ll have to take more time and use more gas in the coming weeks. No way this car was ever TRULY inspected, and if it was I’m sure they did a cash to hand deal for it to pass. I even offered to forfeit my down payment and any fees for their time / processing, still no, so I’m stuck in a crappy deal! Since it was LESS THAN 24 HOURS after they delivered the car to me that I started having issues, I asked them to please take this car back. Of course, they declined. So I’m left super disappointed and had the car not been in the shop for 3 days after I bought it my bank could / would have cancelled the transaction. BUYERS BEWARE!!! More

I purchased a 2008 Porsche Boxster on or around September 22, 2022, the original deal was not terrible, but there were several punch list items that the salesman agreed to fix as part of the sale and to be i 22, 2022, the original deal was not terrible, but there were several punch list items that the salesman agreed to fix as part of the sale and to be included in the contract (radio did not work, agreed to fix or replace; air filter under dashboard was filthy and spit out dirt into the car; there were 2 warning alerts on the dashboard that he agreed to clear; the convertible top needed sleeves to cover the cable on either side of the car). I agreed to buy the car with those items corrected. I waited and waited for service to be provided, it never was provided, the car was left to sit on Morton's parking lot for a total of SIX WEEKS with NO SERVICE. I stopped by the dealership many times and called and texted the salesman many times and finally visited the general manager to inquire why my car was getting not attention, I never got a straight answer, the Porsche specialist was in the hospital and was overworked , the radio man never came to see the car, they were waiting for a part for the convertible top, they never addressed the failure to put in a fresh air filter. So I went to visit the car, it sat so long that now the battery wouldn't start and when I tried to start it with my key, the key became stuck in the ignition and NOONE, not the service manager, not the salesman, no one could remove the key and start the car. So I waited another week until Porsche specialist came to the dealership and finally started the car, but he didn't provide any other service described above and agreed to by the salesman as a condition for my purchase. So finally, I just went over and took my car home and will have to pay for the things myself that Morton agreed to fix, they dishonored there own contract with me, I have no respect for that dealership, make sure you have all service agreed to completed before you complete a contract with Morton Mazda!! The salesman Richard was assigned to me, and he made absolutely no attempt to help me in anyway. I called and texted him to no avail on getting answers on the vehicle I wanted. He would read my texts then completely ignore them. 2 days went by until I had enough and asked for a new salesman. Was then assigned to Mike Hamilton, he was better at getting back to me, answering me and getting me into the door. Once I arrived, I test drove the vehicle like it and came inside to make a deal. (Note before I came in I also applied for the credit app so no issues would come up and the buying process would be easier.) Once we sat down Mike was extremely rude, I didn’t know the paid off to my vehicle but Mike made comments of “You don’t know the payoff, but you probably do and you don’t want to say.” Then comes the slap in my face, KBB has my trade in at 51-53k and I’ve already been offered 52k at other reputable dealerships which I’ve told them. They continue to offer me 45-46k. Yes you read that right, $6,000 under what my vehicle is actually worth. I’ll be sure to share my experience to help as many people that I can stay away from this scamming dealership. Be smart, save thousands and shop elsewhere. More
