The issue is HOW this situation was handled from start to finish.
Huge shout out to Mike and Karina at Planet Honda for wasting an incredible amount of my time after I repeatedly explained EXACTLY what I wanted from the very beginning:
2026 Honda CR-V Hybrid Sport Touring AWD
around $550/month
TRUE sign-and-drive
roll ALL fees and taxes into the lease
minimal or nothing out of pocket
I clearly stated this multiple times throughout the conversation. I even provided a full breakdown in writing showing:
selling price
residual
money factor
fees rolled into lease
target payment
trade payoff
negative equity
I also repeatedly said:
“I’m keeping this simple.”
“Take the Acura MDX trade and put me into the CR-V around $550 sign-and-drive.”
“I’m not looking to go back and forth on structure all day.”
Mike repeatedly responded:
“I can make this deal work for you.”
“Okay I’ll do that deal for you.”
Based on those assurances:
payoff information was requested and submitted
mileage was requested and submitted
registration and insurance were requested
my wife completed a credit application
an appointment was confirmed
they discussed getting paperwork ready before arrival
At one point we were literally discussing vehicle color and delivery timing.
So obviously any customer would reasonably believe the structure had already been approved internally.
THEN suddenly:
taxes became due
upfront money changed
sign-and-drive changed
first payment changed
then eventually the deal “couldn’t be done”
That is the problem.
If management knew the numbers didn’t work, then why move customers through the entire process first?
What made this even worse was when I requested management/GSM information because I wanted to escalate the issue professionally, that information was basically withheld instead of someone stepping up, apologizing, or attempting to resolve the situation properly.
Instead, after wasting hours of our time and collecting personal/credit information, the appointment was simply canceled.
I’m also not a first-time random customer.
I’m a repeat Planet Honda customer who has purchased multiple vehicles there and referred family members over the years.
Absolutely terrible communication and a very disappointing customer experience

Thank you for the opportunity to further explain my experience. We negotiated on a certain amount ($450.00/per month) and was asked to initial it so Chris can take it to someone for approval. Chris came back and said it was approved. After signing a few paperworks, I noticed that my monthly payment was not $450.00 per month. I even told before prior that I’m not going even a penny more. Then he said that it wasn’t approved at $450.00. I end up paying $450.98. It’s not about the amount increase, it’s about HONESTY and INTEGRITY. It is also unfair that Michael, my salesperson review performance was negatively affected, Even Michael’s manager blamed my review for losing his bonus. UNFAIR!
They understood our needs, and were super helpful.
