I just purchased a "new to me" used Prius from Continental Toyota in Countryside, IL. We've purchased several Toyotas (mostly from Continental Toyota) since the early 80's. We've only had great ex Continental Toyota in Countryside, IL. We've purchased several Toyotas (mostly from Continental Toyota) since the early 80's. We've only had great experiences, especially in the maintenance and service department. Our most recent purchase was the first time that I've handled everything - starting by looking at cars when my car was in the service department getting new tires. While I was looking at used cars on the lot, Michael Zalewski (salesman) walked out to welcome me and ask if he could help. I was totally impressed by him for: #1 asking in older woman if she needed help (I've been ignored in the past unless I was with my husband) #2 not being pushy #3 listening and not doing all of the talking #4 being patient, and yet communicating with me after the visit #5 once again not being pushy after the visit I'm an artist and VERY hard on cars - think transporting not-yet-dry artwork, clay dust and damp clay (otherwise known as mud), on clothes and shoes. Also I tend to drive over the curb when backing out of our driveway (but perhaps no longer with the new back-up camera!), and always pulling forward too much and scraping the bumper. I'm in the city a lot and have to parallel park in tight places, resulting in multiple nicks on my bumpers. I'd told MIchael that we were in the market for a used Prius (current one has over 140,000 miles) with lower mileage. But not necessarily in a hurry to buy one. My #1 motivating factor to get a new car was safety. I drive on the highway a lot and have had some close calls because I didn't see a car in my blind spot. I wanted a car with the blinking light in the mirror to warn me (we have this on our newer Sienna). My husband actually found the car I bought on-line, I sent Michael an email and met up with him the next day. Once again I was impressed because he'd listened to what I wanted and didn't want (no extended warrantee -- we buy Toyotas because they are so reliable!). I was provided with the history of the car and a great price. I couldn't be happier with the car, the experience with the salesman, and I know from our many past experiences how great the service department is! More
