My issue is with the service department, not with the sales department. I brought in the vehicle to receive the second set of keys (only 1 was provided when I bought the vehicle). When I scheduled the ap sales department. I brought in the vehicle to receive the second set of keys (only 1 was provided when I bought the vehicle). When I scheduled the appointment, I was told that it would take about 6 minutes to generate the new key fob. When I arrived, I was told that due to worker assignments it would take about 1 hour to get the task assigned, completed and documented. I received no updates while I was waiting. After 1 1/2 hours I went back to the desk to find out what was taking so long. The rep told me that he had no updates, but after my insistence, he searched his inbox and found the key fob in his inbox. He then told me that it would take another 10 to 15 minutes to complete the paperwork, at which point I received the fob only. It was at this point that I was told that I should have received the mechanical key when I purchased the vehicle, and that a new mechanical key would cost an additional $100. I searched the vehicle and my records at home and did not find the mechanical key, so I am purchasing an after-market key. My issues with this service experience are: 1 - It is an inconvenience for me to make a trip to the dealership to pick up the second set of keys. 2- It took way too long to get the key fob prepared. 3 - I should have been told clearly when I bought the vehicle that I was receiving the mechanical key and that I would have to bring it in to have it matched with the second key fob.
