Avoid this dealership due to misleading practices. On March 28th, I visited McGrath Elmhurst Toyota to purchase a brand-new vehicle. I initially worked with Melissa, who seemed to promise a smooth tr On March 28th, I visited McGrath Elmhurst Toyota to purchase a brand-new vehicle. I initially worked with Melissa, who seemed to promise a smooth transaction. I was interested in an SE Hybrid, but since it wasn't available, Melissa offered me another vehicle that was listed as "for sale but in transit." She emphasized that cars were selling quickly and persuaded me to put down a $1000 deposit after confirming availability with her manager. However, upon returning home, I discovered the dealership’s website still listed the vehicle as "available but in transit," and the status changed to "vehicle in transit, sale pending" the next day. Between March 28th and April 16th, I received sporadic updates from Melissa, stating that the vehicle would likely arrive mid-April. On April 17th, I emailed her for another status update but received no response. Instead, I got a text message from the dealership stating that the vehicle was still in the "build phase" and wouldn't be ready until May 4th—a completely different vehicle than the one I had placed a deposit on. When I visited the dealership in person to resolve the issue, I met the manager, Casey, who was dismissive, rude, and unprofessional. Casey falsely claimed that someone else had placed a deposit on the original vehicle before me, contradicting what Melissa had initially said. Furthermore, while at the dealership for the first time, I checked smart.path.toyota website, which showed the car available to start online purchase. Casey then tried to push me to accept another car in the "build phase" instead. When I insisted on receiving the vehicle outlined in my purchase agreement (which was manufactured in Japan), he brazenly told me to "forget about it" and shockingly stated that the purchase agreement I had signed "doesn't mean anything." This experience highlighted deceptive sales tactics, poor communication, and a lack of integrity at McGrath Elmhurst Toyota. I strongly advise others to be cautious and reconsider dealing with this dealership. More

My mistake was NOT paying attention to the financial details as I should have! The sales representative was unknowledgeable about the EV vehicle and has NEVER responded to any of the emails sent. To that point neither has the new vehicle sales manager that entered a gentlemen's agreement after the fact to correct the Internet Price offered and manually signed. Do I recommend this dealership, No! Again, my mistake for not paying attention to the details or taking photographic copies of the signatures but I do NOT consider this dealership as an example of Toyota's commitment to excellence or quality. Overall, consider this similar to complaining about your food service prior to being given your meal. Bad idea. More

Everyone I worked with was personable and interested in my satisfaction (even in difficult times that are beyond anyone's control). In this past year of 2022, I had my cataylitic converter stolen, waiting my satisfaction (even in difficult times that are beyond anyone's control). In this past year of 2022, I had my cataylitic converter stolen, waiting five months for the part. Also, about two months into my wait for the catalytic converter, I had decided it was time for a new car (which ended up taking four months to arrive). As frustrated as I was at times, my Service Advisor, Abigail, was patient and advocated for me, always so kind and pleasant. Meanwhile, Kevin Merce in Internet Sales played a significant role of answering my questions and keeping me up beat that 'my new car would one day come'. Then I simply "had a moment" of frustration and freakout, when family was tired of loaning me their car and I was tempted to cart my Prius off for aftermarket parts. This is when good sense and encredible accomodation was provided to me via a complementary car rental that I ended up having for one month. For this, Dave Hsu can fully be credited with saving my satisfaction with Elmhurst Toyota car service and the sale of the new car (I was considering walking out on my deposit). So, I sat back in a stylish Camry XSE and wondered which would arrive first, my 2023 Corolla Hybrid or a catalytic converter for my 2015 Prius. All turned out well, the Prius was fixed in November in perfect condition for selling at it's above market value and Melissa Garcia was fun, welcoming and got me going with the whole tutorial of driving my amazing new car. Thank you Elmhurst Toyota, I'm a lifer with you all. More
