Incompetent. I called 24 hours in advance so that I could view/drive two vehicles. Provided both VINs and stock numbers. When I arrived, only one of the vehicles I called 24 hours in advance so that I could view/drive two vehicles. Provided both VINs and stock numbers. When I arrived, only one of the vehicles was there. The other had been sent out as a courtesy loaner. Salesman should have known and communicated this before I arrived. Before we could test drive, the vehicle required a jump...off to a great start. We hadn't even left the parking lot when I felt the front end shake, to which the salesman says, "Yeah we need to get that aligned; it's on the list." I pull up to the stop sign and listen to the brakes squeal as my foot nearly has the pedal pushed to the floor; guess the brakes are shot too. Return to the dealership and sit down with Max because I've done my homework and I know what this car is worth, and given the shape it's in, I am in a terrific bargaining position. I make it clear right away that the vehicle is overpriced and they're going to need to knock down the price in order to make a deal. Max runs to get the boss, a man he previously pointed out and referred to as "the owner." Big bad boss man comes in and tells me that because this car is marked under $15k, and he's running a family business, he has absolutely zero room to budge on the price. At this point, I'm entertained. I tell him the current market value of the car, as well as KBB's fair purchase price, AND the fact that a dealer an hour away has three of the exact same automobiles, each priced 30% under his list. Oh, and there is also the amount of time this car has been on the lot. Dude continues to interrupt, talk over, and talk down to me, so I said peace out and took my money across the street to an actual family-run business (Goben) where I was treated fairly and respectfully. Appreciate the ease and efficiency with the car buying process. Took the time to answer all my questions. I was extremely impressed by the fact that the salesman didn’t chase me around the parking lot while I looked at the many vehicles they had to offer. All of which were clean and well presented. The salesme didn’t chase me around the parking lot while I looked at the many vehicles they had to offer. All of which were clean and well presented. The salesmen were all professional and polite. Financing was a breeze. I would highly recommend Schoepp Motors to anyone looking for a great experience when buying a vehicle. More
