Bought a high mileage truck and part of the deal was to replace upper oil pan and fix mirror if I purchased it. They did so. I went to pick up truck and I popped hood to check it out and checked air filter replace upper oil pan and fix mirror if I purchased it. They did so. I went to pick up truck and I popped hood to check it out and checked air filter. Filter was dirty and needed to be replaced. I called them out on it and they said “o we were going to replace that when you come back for a sticker” yet no one told me this. If I never checked they wouldn’t have touched it. Few months later I noticed a wet spot on the upper oil pan and I took it in to be checked. Cost me $200 and they said it wasn’t leaking. I was okay with that at that time because it was such a small leak and I also just replaced a power steering line I figured Maybe it was from that. 7 months later I notice oil all around the upper oil pan. I call again and they said bring it in. I figured this time there’s no doubt they would do the right thing and replace the pan. Nope! Cost me another $200 and they said it was dry and there was no oil leak ya, it was dry because you cleaned it off with brake clean. I was told there was an oil leak on the frame from an aftermarket part that’s behind the transmission on the outside of frame. Please explain to me how that could magically blow forward and surround the upper oil pan when it’s behind it and below the upper oil pan? That’s not have gravity works. I’m assume because it’s Diesel oil in full of carbon the dye did not show up with if Uv light. If you want something done right you have to fix it yourself. They already got me for 50k and I will never spend another dime with them let alone trust them to even do a simple oil change. More

My wife and I have been ripped-off by Empire Ford of New Bedford, and they are completely unapologetic. Here was our experience: My wife and I brought our car in for an oil leak on the engine. We info Bedford, and they are completely unapologetic. Here was our experience: My wife and I brought our car in for an oil leak on the engine. We informed the staff what the issue was, and that we had just had to replace the engine oil as it was bone dry. We were told later that day that the leak was the fault of the transmission pan gasket needing to be replaced; Quoted at $945 to replace. We declined the work, and instead were charged $180 for diagnosing the problem. We took the car to another garage (which gave an estimate of $300 if we needed the transmission pan gasket replaced). They discovered that the transmission was 100% fine, and that the oil leak was from the oil separator. They also stated (regarding the substance on the engine), "any mechanic that has ever put their hands on an engine would be able to tell this was motor oil and not transmission fluid. [Empire Ford] is either incompetent or trying to cheat you." We tried reaching out to the Service Manager at Empire Ford to discuss their incorrect diagnosis, only to be told that he has been on vacation. (Concerning, considering that there was a note on our receipt specifically stating that the recall work we also had performed was "REVIEWED BY SERVICE MANAGER MARTIN", as is required by Ford Motor corporate policy.) Following his return from vacation, we proceeded to speak with desk staff four separate times over 3-days, leaving messages each time for Martin to return our call. On the fifth day of Martin having returned, having still not heard from him, we returned to Empire Ford in person, where we stated we would remain until we were able to speak with Martin. After a short wait, we were brought into Martin's office, where we proceeded to explain the above situation. Martin presented as both defensive and uncaring, refusing to even entertain the notion that Empire Ford had misdiagnosed our issue. After explaining several times that the other garage physically showed us where the leak was coming from (as well as the good condition of our pan gasket and transmission fluid,) only to have Martin wave it away with "then there must have been multiple issues, your car has 90,000 miles and things just go wrong at that point", we requested that Empire Ford either replace the oil separator at cost, or refund the $180 we spent on a false diagnosis. Both options were turned down with a chuckle, stating that we "wouldn't like [their] price." He estimated it would cost $1900 for our repair. We proceeded to thank him for his time and left the office. He claims that independent garages "can't do" what Empire does, and that Empire's low reviews are just "people whining because they don't want to pay their bills". Avoid Empire Ford like the plague.
