I hate this tactic that I think most dealers (not just this one) use: When the sales person presents a price and asks if it would be acceptable, you say "yes" but then he has to "ask the manager." Then the sales person comes back with a higher amount, blames it on "the manager." Why even suggest an amount if you can't honor it? Such a weird game. They make it sound like the sales person is on your side, and it is the fault of the unseen manager that won't offer a better deal. They also did a bait and switch on my trade in value. They offered an amount, asked if it was acceptable, then came back from "the manager" with a reduced amount. WTH? They also add extra costs for things you didn't ask for that you now have to work at removing. So after going back and forth with "the manager," I ended up basically just a few bucks less than the online price shown on the vehicle. I suppose I got a fair deal (not a great deal) on the used RAV4 Hybrid I ultimately bought, but it sure took a lot of time and effort to get there. I will say that the people I dealt with directly were friendly and tried to be helpful. I have bought a vehicle from this dealership before and I have had multiple Toyotas serviced by them as well, so that's why I am still going to recommend this dealership.
