Dear kris.doe99- Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your experience…it’s this feedback, positive and negative…that helps us improve. I agree with your assessment of what happened when you returned from your test drive. The interaction that occurred between Kyle and his co-worker was absolutely inappropriate…in the presence of guests or otherwise…and this situation has been addressed. For this, please accept my apologies. Unfortunately, the confusion regarding whether the Forester you were looking at was available for sale came about due to unclear communication between members of our sales team. That’s also on us, and again, I apologize. Please know that the feedback you provided on your experience was the subject of a meeting with our sales team this morning. As a team, we are committed to improving our processes so that these circumstances do not present themselves going forward. That said, I do feel the need to address the very serious allegations you make in the second to last paragraph of your review…I’ll start from the top. Telling you that the car you test drove was no longer available as a “tactic to get (you) to buy a higher priced car” is called “bait and switch” and is a very serious violation of the NJ Consumer Fraud Act. Aside from being illegal, it’s unethical, and we absolutely do not operate in such a manner. We’ve been in business since 1977, and have a very positive reputation…that doesn’t happen if a business engages in such nonsense. Regarding your comment that “not once did they try to offer us anything within that price range with comparable specs”…as you note, Kyle did “hand(s) (you) a sheet of what they have that is comparable – but they are all 5k + higher….” Unfortunately, we simply did not have any other pre-owned Foresters in a similar price range in stock at that time, otherwise Kyle would certainly have offered an alternative. Most concerning is your suggestion that your experience was based on the fact that “(your) husband is black”. In your review, the racist behavior you cite is that members of my sales team were talking to another guest who happened to be wearing a Trump shirt. Respectfully, I don’t see the correlation. If I’m missing something, and one of my employees did engage in any behavior that you feel was based on the color of your husband’s skin, please reach out and clarify that for me. Racism is a very serious allegation, and I want to be crystal clear on this point…RACISM HAS NO PLACE AT LIBERTY SUBARU.
