Kerry Hughes

I am a retired 85-year-old senior with a fixed income that was in need for a new used vehicle, I chose to buy from a Franchise dealership over Independent Dealerships or private sales, hoping that a fran that was in need for a new used vehicle, I chose to buy from a Franchise dealership over Independent Dealerships or private sales, hoping that a franchise Chevy dealer selling used Chevy vehicles would be the safest route. So, after searching online, I went to Criswell Chevrolet/GMC in Gaithersburg, MD, and decided to go with a Sierra pickup. In trying to select a pickup that wasn't too dated, I chose a 2017 GMC 1500 Crew Cab SLT Premium Package with 93,261 miles, which may equal to it being driven maybe just a little over 10k per year. After being assured it was in excellent shape and had already passed the MD vehicle inspection (the state where I live). I was asked if I would like a warranty, but as I stated in the beginning, "retired with fixed income"; so, 3 or 4k more on 28k would be a bit steep for me, and I can get an aftermarket warranty and pay monthly. But to my surprise this vehicle couldn't make it to its first oil change. At 1,115 miles in, the check engine light came on, and then a few days later the vehicle stopped in the middle of traffic—running but unable to move. After having the vehicle towed to the repair shop, I was told that the transmission is completely out, and the catalytic converter and radiator have issues, it now feels like I have been had; I was sold basically a $28k lemon that cost me over $6k out of my own pocket. All this to say I am very disappointed in Criswell Chevrolet/GMC for selling such an unreliable vehicle. Not even 1 star. More
