My daughter was sold a 2018 Toyota Camry from Tom Gill on Saturday 2/8/2025 at 11:30am and by Sunday she was already having trouble with the vehicle. She purchased a CarFax report which provided evidence tha Saturday 2/8/2025 at 11:30am and by Sunday she was already having trouble with the vehicle. She purchased a CarFax report which provided evidence that the information Tom Gill supplied was incomplete and missing maintenance history related to the issue. On Monday, 02/10/2025 she went to Tom Gill to return the vehicle and at 5:30pm they refused to take the car back. At that time they stated the issue is was not a problem however it was just a “characteristic of the vehicle” and that the 48 hour timeframe had passed. Tom Gill Advertises the following: “48 Hour Money Back Guarantee - If your purchase isn't right for you, simply return the vehicle in two days and within 200 miles.” “And remember, you can buy with peace of mind with our 2-day money back guarantee on your purchase.” In the United States, there is no law that requires businesses to offer money-back guarantees, but if companies advertise one, they must fully honor it and clearly disclose all conditions for receiving a refund. Tom Gill is closed for business on Sunday, they do not have an off-hours contact nor does the advertisement clearly indicate that Sundays and Holidays are included in the 48 hours. After requesting the specific terms and conditions for not receiving a refund their response is that it’s “self explanatory”. In the U.S. most companies exclude Sundays and Holidays from the 48 hour window except for those with 24/7 customer service. So stating this is “self explanatory” is unacceptable especially when it comes to legal or customer facing terms. Consumer protection laws require businesses to provide clear, understandable, and truthful information. I believe Tom Gill has failed miserably and I am hopeful the KY Attorney General feels the same. I also hope this information saves others from their deceptive and misleading practices or at least deters people from buying cars from Tom Gill on Fridays, Saturdays, or during a holiday weekends! More

I was sold a 2018 Toyota Camry on Saturday 2/8/2025 at 11:30am, Tom Gill stated that the car had zero issues. On Sunday 2/9/2025 I heard the transmission whining when accelerating so I purchased a CarFax 11:30am, Tom Gill stated that the car had zero issues. On Sunday 2/9/2025 I heard the transmission whining when accelerating so I purchased a CarFax report and found records that this noise was diagnosed in Sept. 2024. This information was withheld on Tom Gills report. I called and spoke with the shop that was listed on the CarFax report and was told the previous owner was quoted $7,600.00 in transmission repairs. Tom Gill advertises a 48 hour money back guarantee so on Monday 02/10/2025 at 5:30 I went to return the car. They refused to take the car back because the 48 hour timeframe had passed. Tom Gill is closed for business on Sunday so I had no means to get a hold of them. The 48 hour window should be calculated based on their business hours and not to do so is a deceptive practice. Tom Gill not only failed to disclose important major mechanical issues they went back on their guarantee! More
