We were quoted one price when we walked in but by the time everything was finished, the numbers had changed dramatically the finance manager, John pressure doesn’t into putting less money down which caused the interest charges in total amount finance to become much higher than expected important details about how much interest would be added to the total cost were not clearly explained. I left feeling deceived and taken advantage of I also contacted Toyota to motor corporation and felt that nothing was done to address the situation. Buyer should review every single number carefully before signing anything and do not let anyone pressure you into changing your financial decisions Richard O’Connor customer 5/19/26. I’d give it a zero if they let me.

I am sorry to hear that you were dissatisfied with your experience in our Finance Department. To gain a better understanding of your concerns, I spoke with John regarding your visit.
While customers are certainly welcome to put down any amount they choose, we generally advise against making a substantial down payment on a lease. This recommendation is made because if a vehicle is declared a total loss early in the lease term, a large portion of the money put down may not be recoverable. For this reason, John suggested that you consider putting less money down; however, this was simply a recommendation and not a requirement. Ultimately, you chose to adjust the down payment amount based on that discussion.
The interest rate itself did not change. However, financing a larger amount will naturally result in more interest being paid over the life of the loan because the financed balance is higher. I apologize if there was any misunderstanding surrounding the discussion of the down payment and financing terms. Please know there was never any intention to withhold or misrepresent this information. The finance charges and total amount financed are fully disclosed within the sales contract, and the monthly payment reflected the terms discussed after the down payment adjustment.

Thank you for your response. My concern is not that I chose a down payment amount, but that the long-term financial impact and the increased overall cost were not clearly explained to me during the signing process while the figures may have appeared in the paperwork, I do not feel the financing terms were presented transparently or in a way I fully understood the time. I remained disappointed with my experience and hope the dealership takes customer concerns about finance transparency, more seriously in the future.
