I just wanted to share my recent purchase experience with Honda of Kenosha. I previously had found some local Pilots (Green Bay) but then I found one (Certified Black Edition) at this dealership that ma with Honda of Kenosha. I previously had found some local Pilots (Green Bay) but then I found one (Certified Black Edition) at this dealership that matched what I was looking for and had a little better price point (online sale price). I dealt with Melanie Friedrich to do some preliminary sales and trade in valuations. Melanie got me a minimum unseen appraisal for $30000 from her manager and said once the vehicle was inspected it would most likely go up from there depending on condition (my 2019 EX-L Pilot was near perfect condition). Melanie was very prompt and set up a Boarding Pass on 6/24 for 1:00 for appraisal and test drive of the new vehicle. My wife and I both took the day off, got childcare for $100, and made the 2 1/2 hour journey through all the traffic and made sure we were on time for our appointment. We actually arrived right on time and went into the showroom. We stopped by the front desk and there was no one at the desk and we waited for close to 10 minutes. Finally someone came to the desk and pretty much did not have any idea as far as the appointment. She called sales over the intercom and waited another 5 minutes before someone came over. They walked away and she called again and after a bit Jim Spink came over and said he would have to help and I had to explain everything to him. He sent out Used Cars to do a trade-in value and showed us to the vehicle which was in the showroom and not ready for any test drive. We sat and waited for a while and I went over to Jim and he said we will have to wait as he was dealing with a different customer. It was extremely warm out that day and we were not offered anything, not even water. When Jim finally came back with the offer sheet we almost walked out right there, 5 hours of driving for nothing with these gas prices! The offer was over $51,000 when the online sale price was around $44,500. The trade-in was $24,000 and a nearly $5,000 upgrade package installed, that I was not informed of, and Jim stated that they put that on every vehicle. We were extremely frustrated with this bait and switch and trying to give us this undervalued trade-in. I told Jim that I already had a minimum trade-in $6000 more than that offer and had to show him the"proof" in the email and he just said, "ooh". After some negotiation and not much flexibility or even being treated like a customer that was about to pay cash for a $48,000 vehicle. Jim told me several times that, "this is just the way the market is right now and you kind of have to deal with it'. After technical issues with their financial institution and verification ( my wife and I have near perfect credit) we were finally able to purchase the vehicle at about $3000-$4000 more than what would have been the price if the online pre-work would have been true. Jim never went over any of the options of the vehicle or benefits of purchasing from their dealership that are advertised on their website. I asked about one of the advertised benefits (2 free oil changes) and Jim said, 'well I guess that really doesn't work for you since you live far away". After waiting another hour or so for the new vehicle to get back from final prep we were given a used plastic grocery bag to transfer our stuff from the trade-in vehicle to the new vehicle. Also the upgrade package includes basically useless running boards, rubber floor mats that I already had and a towing package that I do not need. I emailed the Sales Manager and Director of Operations and told them about our experience and they didn't even reply. Easily the worst sales experience of our lives! Would never ever recommend Honda of Kenosha!! More

Service department did a awesome job buffing, cleaning and making sure additional services needed was done. Don't remember the name of the guy who clean my vehicle but thank you again. Not happy about having to pay $499 for a windshield coating that needs to be reapplied 14 more times. We will not be driving that far every 4-6 months for the next coat.
