If my transaction with Elkins ended there, I would have would have rated Elkins a 6 out of 5. The financial process was where I was left with a sour taste. I was provisionally approved at one percentage from a Credit Union but went with financing Elkins uses because even though it was higher, it was competitive (within .5%) and removed the hassle of going between the two. I was, however, unhappy to find out in the Financing Office that my rate would increase to almost another .5% higher than that when signing up for other protection. I wish it had been clearer earlier in the negotiation so I could have decided to go with my original financing and not feel stuck at the end. I had a monthly budgeted amount, and I thought I was sticking to it but became dejected that I would be unable to. More
