Why would anyone drive from Charlotte, North Carolina to Naperville, Illinois to purchase a vehicle: Because of the incredible service the Bill Jacobs family of dealerships provides their customers. As a former auto salesman for over 30 years, and Salesman of the Year multiple times at three different dealerships, I know what exemplary service looks and feels like, and it’s what I hold others to. I moved from Chicago in late 2019, and I didn’t get the service I was looking for at a very well-known dealer in Charlotte that sells Minis, the vehicle I was looking to purchase. I am still waiting for a call from my salesperson, or a text or email, thanking me for my purchase of a car from them late in 2020. They never reached out to thank me, or ask how my car was doing, or to wish me a happy birthday or on my car’s anniversary. Knowing that, I wasn’t surprised how I was taken care of when my lease was up and I wanted to order a 2024 Mini convertible from them. Explaining to the manager I was in the car business for a long time and what I was hoping for, I was treated like someone walking in off the street that didn’t know a car from an airplane. They were trying to take me to the cleaners, and I could tell they didn’t care about earning my business, and I heard much of the same from people I know in Charlotte about this particular dealer. They have practically no competition and it shows. That’s where Bill Jacobs in Naperville comes in. I had a friend working at the BMW store, Bill Earnest, who I not only admired, but wished I was as good at in sales. He treats his customers like gold and knows the product as well as anyone I have ever met in the car business. I reached out to him about ordering a Mini. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to help me because of being with BMW, but he reached out to the Mini manager and told him I was a good friend of his and asked him to take care of me. The manager reached out and said he would have a salesperson get in touch with me within the next day or two. That’s when I had the pleasure of speaking with Jed Kuefler. He had been selling Mini’s for a few years, but his professionalism was far ahead of his years in the business. I would say he was great to work with, but that wouldn’t be giving him the kudos he deserved. I talked to him about the build I wanted for my Mini convertible, and we talked back and forth a few times regarding the numbers and what I was looking for in terms of ordering it. I wasn’t even his customer yet when Jed texted me the day before my birthday and said he wanted to be the first person to wish me a happy birthday. (He was.) I got a birthday wish from him before I was even an official customer and never received any contact from my previous salesperson. Long story short, Jed made the numbers work for me because he listened, and that’s so important for a salesperson. He got me exactly where I wanted to be, and I knew I was in good hands with the order, as he also accommodated me regarding when I wanted to pick the vehicle up since I didn’t want to drive to Chicago in January or February. In the meantime, I also received an email from Mike Adler, the general manager of the dealership. I had never met him, yet he reached out to make sure the manager and salesperson took good care of me and if I needed anything, to reach out to him and he would be there for me. Now, that’s customer service. Jed let me know my Mini had arrived, and I let him know when I would come to pick it up. Bill introduced me to Jed, since I never met him before and helped make sure everything went smoothly. Of course, with Jed at the helm, everything was wonderful, from the look of my new Mini, to everything that was supposed to be there being there, and he’s the nicest guy and a true professional wise beyond his years. This past weekend I purchased a brand new 2024 mini. My salesperson Jed was absolutely amazing from start to finish. The week before, I had come in to purchase a part for my older 2015 paceman with no intent to purchase a vehicle. After great conversation with Jed, no pressure on purchasing ( that wasn't my mind set) I had gained alot of knowledge about minis. A few days later I called Jed, he was excited to hear from. His energy and hospitality drew me to him. We communicated for 2 days regarding my purchase making sure all my Ts were crossed and I's were dotted. This was thee most effortless, stressless, fastest, most satisfying car purchase I've ever done... Im happily driving my 2024 mini because of Jed.. THANK YOU JED!! YOU WERE AWESOME!!! More
