We are VERY upset with the service department!! We took our Venza in for the 5000 mile servicing and told them there was a strange noise in the front end. It was only there when we were on a bumpy road and our Venza in for the 5000 mile servicing and told them there was a strange noise in the front end. It was only there when we were on a bumpy road and under 40 mph so we thought maybe it was the shocks or something. They said they checked it all out, drove it in their GRAVEL parking lot and over potholes to see if they could hear the noise but did not. They said they could not find anything wrong, put it up and rotated the tires. We picked it up, not happy that they did not find the source of the noise, drove it straight to our house and parked it in the garage. The next day I drove it to work and to the grocery store. Upon pulling out of the store parking lot onto the road, all these messages popped up: Hybrid system malfunction, check engine, output power reduced, awd failure 2wd engaged (not sure of the exact wording for the awd message), call dealership, sbdk or some kind of letters malfunction. So I called the dealership and told them what was happening. Lisa told me all they did was rotate the tires and drive it through the gravel and potholes to find out if there was a noise but that the car was fine when we picked it up. She said I could drive it out to them as long as the check engine light was not blinking. By this time I had made it home. My husband came out to look at it and that is when we noticed it leaking something. My husband went into the garage to see if there were any signs of a leakage from being parked the night before. There was a spot on the garage floor. I called Lisa back and told her of the leaking. Again she told me as long as the check engine light was not blinking, we could drive it to them. It took us an hour to go 2 1/2 miles! It was saying hybrid system overheating and would lose all power. We were stuck at one point in the middle of a busy road. We were able to turn it off for a few minutes and then it gave us enough power to go under 50 feet to a parking lot where it again lost power. We called for a tow truck and had it towed to the dealership just before they closed. Lisa called us yesterday and told us that we must have hit a rock that shot up and put a hole in the hybrid pan! She told us it was not covered under warranty and would cost over 1000.00! First of all, it was not leaking when we took it in for the 5000 mile servicing, it only had a strange noise. Secondly I drove it from the dealership to my home and to work and the store. I never hit a rock or heard anything hit the car! Maybe it was them driving over gravel and potholes that caused a rock to fly up! Also when they had it up rotating the tires and checking the shocks etc. you would think they would see a leakage or a hole! The leak spot in my garage was not there when we initially took it to them, only after we brought it home from the dealership! I am very careful with my car. I drive 3 miles each way to work. It has taken me 8 months to put 5000 miles on my car. I feel this was their negligence that caused a bigger problem and we should not have to pay for the repairs! More
