I’ve bought five cars from DCH. Made an appointment today to get two cars. One cheaper car for my college age daughter and a 4 Runner for me. We test drove 3 cars for my daughter and really liked the third one. We tried to negotiate the price down 1,000 and were told it couldn’t be done, and there were no further discussions. At that point, we had been there all day because the sales person Jim was doing several things at once so we were kept waiting many times. I decided to test drive the 4Runner to see if I liked it, which I did. I told them the car needed to have the transmission fluid changed because it was very low and it was brown. They said they would see if they can do it themselves or credit me $300. Other than that, They would not negotiate on the price at all. I know what the vehicle is worth, and they wouldn’t bring the price down even a little. The only thing they did was support their argument by showing me how much other cars had sold for in the area. And that was the end of the conversation. That’s the first time I’ve ever left DCH Toyota without a car. it was a very disappointing experience and the wait was pretty long given that we had an appointment. We still need two cars so I guess I will just have to go somewhere else which is very disappointing, because I’ve always had a great experience there. More

The response I received to my initial statement is nothing more than an attempt to "Cover Your xxx" and make it seem as if, as a customer, I wanted to place a false opinion about the way that I was tr nothing more than an attempt to "Cover Your xxx" and make it seem as if, as a customer, I wanted to place a false opinion about the way that I was treated when I tried to purchase a car from your dealership. Simply put, your sales manager Nicholas Ventriglio is nothing more than a snot nosed person who does not care about anything other than profit margins. You said that you have the audio and video proof to support your claim that I was unruly. I never stated that I did not get "verbal' with Nicholas. I will be the first to say that I did get verbal with him. You say that the video proves that I did not act accordingly. Perhaps I did not act properly. At the same time, the audio / video recording will show that I DID provide Nicholas with the communication from your dealership that supports my claim that my CASH offer of $9500 was accepted. While I may have been "out of line" when I was told that my approved offer would not be accepted, Nicholas only pushed my "buttons" further and did NOTHING to find a way to come to a mutual agreement. Instead, he pushed things to a level that was not mecessary. Quite frankly, your response is nothing more than an attempt to "cover your xxx" and make it seem as if I was the only person who was at fault. I ask that you once again look at the video that you claim to have. I am sure that you will see that I did, in fact, provide Nicholas with the communication that I received from your dealership. In addition, before things got worse, I was already on my way out when Nicholas took things to a higher level. Here again, the audio / video revording that you claim to have will FULLY support this. Nicholas is the reason why car dealerships have such a poor reputation. I have the proof to show that I submitted a cash offer and this offer was accepted by your dealership. In addition, your video recording will also show that Nicholas was the one who acted in an aggressive maner. Did you also look and listen to the audio / video of what happened after I left your showroom? Nicholas acted in a very aggressive manner. In addition, another one of your employees acted in a very threatining manner. When he came out to "support" Nicholas, he told me to "Suck His Dick". Your response to my statement is nothing more than an attempt to cover your xxx and make it seem as if your employees acted in a respectful manner. They did NOT act this way. A few days later, I submitted a cash offer for a car from another dealership. This dealership honored this offer. A few months later, my wife and I purchased another car from this dealership. We paid CASH for this car as well. As far as I can say, Freehold Toyota lost over $30,000 worth of sales because you have a sales manager who treats prople with such a low level of respect. Freehold Toyota will NEVER get our business again. More

When you make an on line bid, you will get an email that says you can "Consider the car sold". However, when you arrive at the dealership, they do not honor your bid. They use lame excuses like "The price w says you can "Consider the car sold". However, when you arrive at the dealership, they do not honor your bid. They use lame excuses like "The price was listed incorrectly", or "We have no record of your on line bid". How can they not have a record of the bid when they responded to it? How is it that they can say "If you have proof of the bid, we will honor the price" and then, when proof is presented, they say that the printed price was in error. When I arrived at the dealership, I spoke with Ian. Ian was very professional. However, when I told him of the price that was approved, he then turned my purchase over to Nick. Nick struck me as being nothing more than one of those "typical used car salesmen" who is not honest. Then, when I started to complain, Nick was joined by (who I believe to be James Rizzo). Together, they started to "throw their muscle" around. This is NOT the first time something like this has happened with Freehold Toyota. My wife and I were shopping for a car for our son. Same scenario. On line bid was accepted and then, not honored because the listing was in error. We also purchased a Celica from the dealership many years ago. We agree on a price, only to find out 2 days later that it was being advertised through Auto Shopper at a much lower price. DCH Freehold has lost ALL credibility with me. I have filed a formal complaint with the NJ Department of Consumer Affairs. I have contacted an attorney and am looking into the possibility of filing a suit against them for fraudulent business practices. More

Very shady dealership. Try to tack on additional fees past the advertised price. Went to look a used vehicle on their lot that I had previously viewed on their website. The pictures on the website did no past the advertised price. Went to look a used vehicle on their lot that I had previously viewed on their website. The pictures on the website did not accurately show the condition of the vehicle, in the least. The vehicle was covered in scratches and scuffs, with a few dents. Trying to negotiate the price down because of those they tell me that they were already taken into consideration when pricing because they do an extensive inspection and are open about everything they find. But I found more wrong with the vehicle that they were not aware of. I keep asking about the issues I found regarding price but keep getting told to put those aside and can we make a deal. They come over with the cost breakdown and I see quite a few large surprise fees. Almost $500 for window etching and almost $1000 for nitrogen in the tires and paint/upholstery protection. I ask about them and am told they are added to all vehicles before delivery. But I don't want those extras. The dealership requires them and they are not optional. So those required extras add over $1500 +taxes to the overall advertised price. They also charge $800 in document fees. In my area the normal is half of that. Total price of the vehicle was over $4500 above advertised price. That additional cost was not mark-up, it was the dealership trying to take advantage of the buyer. Would not recommend trusting this dealership to buy any vehicle. Those extra fees are not to make a happy satisfied buyer, they are to pad the dealerships pockets. Stay clear!!! More

Just a bad experience Wanted to buy a new car. After choosing a vehicle at the dealership , I had to make 4 MORE TRIPS to the dealer. One was over a holiday weekend. Saturd Wanted to buy a new car. After choosing a vehicle at the dealership , I had to make 4 MORE TRIPS to the dealer. One was over a holiday weekend. Saturday. They told me to come in to fill out the paperwork 9:30am. I get there and I’m told their systems were hacked and could not process and sales. How about a phone call to cancel my appointment! I was told to come back on Monday (the holiday). I later received a call from the salesperson that all the systems are not functioning yet and it would be best for me to come back later in the week. So on a holiday you could not complete any sales?!?! Or was i already a guaranteed sale so make me wait and make more sales instead?When I went back two days later, they did the paperwork mostly by hand but was told I had to come back to sign paperwork. I agreed to finance an agreed amount but the finance person added something incorrectly. When I had to go back to get the registration a couple weeks later they called to tell me the cost of the registration but never mentioned the additional cost. I went there ready to pay $89 and left paying almost $300. When I mentioned I was not happy to the cashier, she called the manager Matt over. I already did not have a pleasant experience (Besides having to keep going back to the dealer, I was originally told the car would be available in 3 to five days. i did not get into the vehicle until almost 3 weeks later!) and I started to tell Matt I was again not happy about the way things were handled he stopped me and said VERY LOUDLY “I could remove the extra money but You know what, since you are going to slam me on your review, CHARGE HIM.” He yelled this to the cashier from about twenty feet away. There were also customers in earshot who heard him as well. Never in my life have I been treated so rudely by anyone. It was a total lack of respect for his client no matter how unhappy he or she was. When I complained about the cost to the dealer customer relations department , I was told they spoke with Matt and there was nothing they could do. Had he kept his cool and removed the cost, I would of left feeling much better about the whole experience. But after this, I will NEVER buy another vehicle there again (and I drive 45,000-50,000miles a year. I go through vehicles quickly) They have lost my, my friends, and my family’s business. More

Easy and speedy It was one of the fastest car purchases I have ever made. Jim Rizzo was very knowledgable on what I was looking for and there was none of this back It was one of the fastest car purchases I have ever made.
