BEWARE - Misrepresentation and Unnecessary Services I've been a loyal customer at Parkway Toyota Services for 3 years, bringing in my RAV4 Prime and consistently experiencing good service-- Services I've been a loyal customer at Parkway Toyota Services for 3 years, bringing in my RAV4 Prime and consistently experiencing good service--coffee, pleasant staff, and timely appointments. However, my recent visit for a regular 30K service, covered under a pre-paid maintenance agreement, left me deeply disappointed. The service advisor recommended a differential fluid change and injector cleaning, costing $400 out-of-pocket. When I questioned this, the advisor claimed these services were listed in the Maintenance Guide and were essential to avoid voiding the warranty. Upon reviewing the Maintenance Guide myself, I found neither of these claims to be true. Despite escalating the issue to management and Toyota corporate, I received no resolution. RECOMMENDATIONS: 1. Carefully check every service item before agreeing to it. 2. Get a second opinion if you have doubts. 3. Read the Maintenance Guide thoroughly before your visit. 4. The quality of the sevice dept at this dealership has been poor. We purchased 3 new batteries before they diagnosed the problem. Average experience. Yaro was an "OK" sales rep. Pushy and opaque. Got very upset that I would not finance through Toyota and they even stated to me that they cant sell t Yaro was an "OK" sales rep. Pushy and opaque. Got very upset that I would not finance through Toyota and they even stated to me that they cant sell the car to me if i dont finance through Toyota, which I know is illegal. Luckily I came with my own pre-approval. Also, lucky I found the CarEdge podcast which taught me much about the car buying process and equipped me with everything I needed to be an educated consumer in the market space. When I had additional questions and concerns with my new car, I was directed back to Yaro who kept bringing up the fact that I got a great deal on the car (maybe because his commission wasn't so great on my deal). I don't know personally what it is like to buy from other dealers in the area. However, I do know the experience could have been much worse but it definitely could have been much better. Also, side note: Toyota's quality is not what it used to be. I even reached out to Toyota to complain about a cosmetic issue with my brand-new purchase and they just brushed it off. More
