Unethical business - Wish I could give negative stars! I was in the market for buying a 2017 Kia Sorento LX with the Advanced Technology Package. I had a decent offer from another dealership and since Kia I was in the market for buying a 2017 Kia Sorento LX with the Advanced Technology Package. I had a decent offer from another dealership and since Kia of White Plains had the same vehicle in stock too I gave them a call to see if they are willing to beat that price. I spoke to Liana on the phone on Friday who said she would talk to the Sales Manager to see if they can beat that price. After a few hours she called me back saying that she spoke to Sales Manager James and they would atleast meet that price and if I come in I can try to haggle further to get the price down even lower. On the phone I confirmed the exact vehicle with the stock number, VIN number, packages on the vehicle, even the color for that matter. Next day I went to the dealership (drove all the way from Rego Park, Queens!) to complete the purchase. Reggie was our sales person. The test drive went well and then things quickly went south as we sat down to discuss numbers. Apparently the best number they could give me was atleast $4000-5000 above what we had agreed to less than 24 hours back. I asked them to speak to Liana and James who had agreed to this price to which their excuses began - there must have been some confusion over the numbers (yeah right! I asked them to match a number and confirmed the number twice when they said they would atleast match it), Liana must have been looking at a different vehicle (yeah that's why I confirmed the stock numbers, packages, color, etc. on the vehicle over the phone), Liana is new to the job (seriously!!!). Best part is I spoke to Liana before I left home and an hour later when I reached the dealership she was "no longer at work so couldn't speak to her!". I demanded to speak to James and waited for more than an hour but apparently he was too busy to step out of his office for 5 mins (we could see him alone in his office for atleast half an hour or so) to discuss what went wrong here (he was alone in his office and while he may have had some important work to do its common decency to speak to a customer who you commit something too and don't honor it). Finally Richard Miller spoke to us and told us he runs things around there so speaking to James wouldn't make a difference anyways. Basically they lied to my face to get me to their dealership (don't understand why because after such a blatant lie no person with common sense would make a purchase here), made sure the people who committed to the offer do not speak to me (because they would have nothing to say for their lie!) and the rest of the crew could very conveniently say "it wasn't me". I was able to go to the other dealership who had made a decent offer the same day and complete my purchase at a price LOWER than what I had offered Kia of White Plains. So in a way it worked out in my favor but Kia of White Plains were successful in wasting several hours of my time. Finally, they had the nerve to have their salesperson email and call me back on Monday to ask about where did I make the purchase from, at what price point, etc. as if I was under obligation to give them that information. Stay as far away from this dealership as possible!!! More
