December 2022: Completely inadequate certification inspection: worn-out summer tires (December, in VT!), mouse-chewed windshield washer hose, defective radio unit that cannot be reloaded /updated. inspection: worn-out summer tires (December, in VT!), mouse-chewed windshield washer hose, defective radio unit that cannot be reloaded /updated. Update January 2, 2023: windshield washer hose issue fixed, with dealer covering the cost (normally not a warranty repair). Suggest that testing the washers should be part of the Certification inspection. Radio unit to be replaced (delay due to an illness in my family), covered by dealer warranty. My suggestion is that updating the display software should be part of the Certification inspection; this would have exposed this issue before I could encounter it and in any case would remove the data from previous owners/users of the vehicle. Tires: I had already bought new snow tires, and kept one of the worn-out summer tires to show the service manager; upon seeing it, he agreed that the tires should not have passed Certification inspection and should have been replaced before I received the vehicle, and agreed to provide new or nearly-new summer tires in the spring (including mount/balance and an oil change, if needed). So the issues have been addressed, with two resolved and one on track to be resolved. Thank you! More
