Mercedes-Benz of Edison - A Ray Catena Dealership
910 U.S. 1
Edison, NJ 08817
Hello, my name is Gregory Giordano. I’ve been in the automotive industry for 17 years, 12 of them here at Ray Catena Motor Car Corporation. I am proud to have worked with and followed in the footsteps of my father, Ken Giordano, who has now retired after catering to customers for 20 years at this very same organization. Just as my father, I don’t consider myself a typical car sales person. The customer has always been my main priority and I take great pride in assisting them. I'm an honest man that wants to do the right thing for Mr. Catena’s guests. Away from work, I love playing golf with my son.

My original review has been retracted because what happened after my lease deserves to be told. This was my first Mercedes and my first time leasing a vehicle. I believed that when someone gives yo happened after my lease deserves to be told. This was my first Mercedes and my first time leasing a vehicle. I believed that when someone gives you their word, it means something. Unfortunately, I learned the hard way that if it is not in writing, you should not rely on it. I leased my own Mercedes from Ray Catena Mercedes-Benz of Edison. About two weeks later, I brought my father in and he leased one too. I personally paid his down payment because he did not have the money, and I wanted him to experience owning a Mercedes. I worked hard to save that money, and bringing him into that showroom was one of the proudest moments of my life. Before my father leased his vehicle, I asked whether I would receive the Mercedes glass set if I brought him in. I was verbally told yes. That was not an unusual request because the dealership had already honored another souvenir promise during my own lease. I had every reason to believe this promise would also be honored. After my father signed, everything changed. Management denied that the promise had ever been made. Instead of standing behind what I had been told, the discussion turned into an argument over which salesperson said it and whether that person had authority. As a customer, I have no way of knowing who has authority inside the dealership. A promise made by a dealership representative on the showroom floor should be a promise made by the dealership. I was then told the $178 Mercedes glass set would come out of the salesperson’s own pocket and that he had only made about $70 on the deal, as though I should feel guilty for asking the dealership to honor the promise they made before receiving a second lease from my family. I repeatedly asked to speak with the General Manager. Instead, I was kept speaking with another manager who wanted me to continue the conversation inside a private office. I respectfully declined because I did not feel comfortable discussing the matter behind closed doors. I preferred to remain in the public showroom near the front counter where other customers and employees were present. While I was standing there waiting to speak with the General Manager, I was told that the police would be called if I did not leave. I never threatened anyone. I never yelled. I never became aggressive. I was emotional because I felt blindsided after helping bring the dealership two completed leases from one family. My voice was shaking and at times I struggled to speak, but I remained calm. I have a recording from that interaction. It is mostly audio, but it captures my emotional state and shows that I remained in the public showroom. I welcome the dealership to preserve and review its complete security footage because it will show exactly what happened. The receptionist treated me with kindness and professionalism throughout the interaction, and I appreciate that. My complaint is not about her. My complaint is with how management handled the situation after the promise was denied. To make matters worse, after driving my brand new leased vehicle directly home from the dealership, I noticed what appears to be a small paint chip. I documented it immediately and contacted the dealership about it. This was never about a $178 glass set. It was about honesty, integrity, and standing behind your word. I trusted this dealership enough to lease my own Mercedes, bring my father in for a second lease, and I was even planning to bring my mother in for a third. Instead, I left feeling humiliated and deeply disappointed. If you choose to do business with this dealership, get every promise in writing before you sign anything. Do not rely on verbal commitments. My experience taught me that lesson the hard way. More

I visited the dealership (Ray Catena Mercedes Benz) and asked to work with an experienced sales professional, and Mr. Greg Giordano was there to assist me. He was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and asked to work with an experienced sales professional, and Mr. Greg Giordano was there to assist me. He was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and supportive throughout the entire process. Greg guided me from start to finish, making everything smooth and stress-free. He was patient, never pushy, and took the time to answer all my questions. Once I selected and test-drove the vehicle, he efficiently completed all the paperwork and coordinated everything with the finance manager. The electronic signing process using a digital screen and electronic pen made the transaction quick and convenient, saving a great deal of time. This was by far one of the best car-buying experiences I have had, from the competitive pricing and the vehicle selection to the outstanding customer service provided by everyone involved. I am 100% satisfied with my experience and would highly recommend Greg Giordano, the finance manager, and the entire dealership team. Thank you for making the process so easy and enjoyable. More

Ray Catena Edison never disappoints. I had an Infiniti years ago and their service department was phenomenal. Now having gotten into a Mercedes nearly 20 years later nothing has changed.
