Yesterday I walked into the dealership just to test drive a car. Well, I ended up leaving with a 2019 Ford Explorer Sport. Both Gregg and Doug were amazing. I traded in my car and purchased a 2020 Honda Insight from Heritage Honda of Westminster in June. Prior to and at purchase I had a good experience. I thought everything was good (its been 4 months), unti from Heritage Honda of Westminster in June. Prior to and at purchase I had a good experience. I thought everything was good (its been 4 months), until recently when I received a notice from a tow yard in Baltimore. They picked up my old car abandoned in Baltimore City and have it impounded. The dealership sold my old car without transferring the title (title jumping). I have called the dealership several times and have not received a call back. I sent 2 emails to just about everyone I dealt with during my June transactions and have received no response. I contacted the tow yard and provided them a copy of the signed title to show I no longer own it, but I am still receiving notices from the tow yard. The last notice indicates I have 10 days to pay the tow fee and the daily storage fees and get the car or they will turn this into collection and it will impact my credit. I traded the car into the dealership instead of private sale to avoid the hassle and potential liability of just this scenario (you hear horror stories). I never thought a licensed dealership would put their customers through this and the financial hardship. I now need to contact an attorney to protect my credit. More
