We had a wonderful experience at Smithtown Kia. Our salesman Gerard was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the vehicles and and made sure we were 100% satisfied we our choice. I could not be happier about my experience with Smithtown Kia. Gerard approached me as I came in and showed me a few models of the K4 I was interested in. He was very professional, knowledgeable and friendl Kia. Gerard approached me as I came in and showed me a few models of the K4 I was interested in. He was very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. He showed me a few scenarios with the different trims and was not pushy at all. After my decision was made Gerard showed me all the tech in the car, which there is plenty of! The day I picked up my car he helped me set everything up and he took care of turning in my previous lease. Everyone in the dealership was very friendly. I highly recommend Smithtown Kia! More

Having recently been in a car accident during which my car was totaled, I needed to replace my car as soon as possible. The first place I went to was a used car lot which was “highly recommended” by a f car was totaled, I needed to replace my car as soon as possible. The first place I went to was a used car lot which was “highly recommended” by a friend. She gave me the name of the salesman she wanted me to see saying he was “honest and would give me a good deal.” He asked me what type of car my previous one was. When I told him it was a 2013 Hyundai Sonata, he told me he had just the car for me—a 2013 Hyundai Sonata. When I said that I didn’t want to buy such an old car he said, “But I want to put you in a car that you’re familiar with,” and brought me over to the car. I didn’t want it; it was filthy and it was old. But he spoke about it as if it was a bargain that I should definitely take advantage of. I told him it looked like someone peed on the front seat and was in much worse shape than the car that I had just gotten rid of. Then he showed me a Hyundai with over 90,000 miles on it; I told him I didn’t want a car with such high mileage. His response was, “For a Hyundai, 90,000 miles is nothing.” Then he got a little belligerent and said, “Well, why did you come here?” Oops! Time to leave. My second stop was at a what I thought was a reputable car dealership. I had seen a car advertised there that I wanted to check out. I test-drove it, liked the car and was going to buy it. The salesman wrote up the paperwork for me to sign and there was more than a four thousand dollar increase from the advertised price. I left. Then I went to KIA Smithtown to see a car that was advertised there. I dealt with a salesman named Gerard Rennie. One of the first things I asked him was if the price was really $15,995.00 as advertised; I didn’t want another $4,000.00 tacked on like the previous place I had gone to. He assured me it was. He showed me the car and gave me a lot of information on it. There was absolutely no pressure. I test drove it and had several questions which he answered. I liked the car but it reeked of smoke. Gerard said he would have it bombed to remove the smoke smell and would have it detailed. In the meantime, a gentleman named Ray was evaluating my insurance to see if he could get me a better insurance rate elsewhere. There was no pressure to change insurance companies if he came up with a better rate for me; it was just a valuable service they provided. After putting time and energy into insurance comparisons, he told me he thought it best for me to continue with my present insurance company. I felt that that was really a great service and it assured me that I was using the best insurance company for me. Then I spoke with a gentleman named Jeff who discussed any possible warranties I might want to consider. Once again, there was no pressure. I have to say that my experience at KIA Smithtown was actually very pleasant. The people I dealt with were all very helpful. I never felt pressured by any of them for which I was very grateful. I found a great car at a very reasonable price. And, true to his word, Gerard had the car bombed to greatly lessen the smoke smell and he had it detailed beautifully. The car I bought is 7 years old; but they had it looking like new! Thank you, Gerard! Thank you, KIA Smithtown! More
