You tried to intimidate us into buying a vehicle that your dealership clearly knew was in poor condition. That’s not salesmanship—that’s predatory behavior. You are an embarrassment to the profession and a shining example of why used car salesmen have the reputation they do. Your actions have permanently branded Toyota of North Austin as a dishonest operation in my mind—a con job hiding behind a corporate logo. Thankfully, I had the foresight to purchase the extended warranty—something I now fully expect to need. And rest assured, I will never set foot in your dealership again. In fact, I’ll be steering clear of all Group 1 Automotive locations—because if your conduct is any indication of how they operate, then the whole organization is a plague on the industry. On September 23, 2024, I bought a pre-own 2023 Lexus GS 460 with 4,122 miles for $65,000 from Toyota of North Austin. While the vehicle itself is nearly new, there were issues with the dealership that left 460 with 4,122 miles for $65,000 from Toyota of North Austin. While the vehicle itself is nearly new, there were issues with the dealership that left me dissatisfied. Missing Items: When the vehicle was delivered, despite its low mileage, I was only provided with one key fob, not usually 2 as expected. Purchasing a new Lexus key fob and have it programmed would cost me over $500. Additionally, the emergency tool kit was incomplete, missing several tools. See the attached picture. Payment Method Issues: Although they successfully charged $5,000 to my credit card at the signing table, they refused to accept my personal check for the remaining balance. I had to leave without the vehicle until I purchased a cashier's check to complete the payment. More
