We went to the dealership and test drove a vehicle. The experience started off great. Once we researched the vehicle we found the the same vehicle same or less mileage was thousands cheaper. We spoke with our sales representative who had his manager only want to meet us “halfway “. The sales representative then told us that this vehicle had been there for 71 days and until it is there for longer they will not go any lower. At that point is when he started to make us feel like we didn’t matter. We had CASH in hand to buy this vehicle. When we got home I called the General Sales Manager who also did not want to give us the time of day. We will absolutely NEVER buy a vehicle from Rowe! They do not make you feel like you are appreciated. More

Bait and Switch Isaiah was friendly and helpful, and seemed to truly care about helping find the vehicle I wanted. Andre Lester stepped in and the experience went downhill fast. He refused to confirm the interest rate on a loan with me, and ended up screaming and swearing at my husband when he tried to call and confirm the info for me. After looking throughout northern New England for a vehicle in a specific color and package, I knew that there were not many of them, and if I wanted it, I needed to move ahead with the purchase. So I went back to Rowe to purchase the vehicle. Upon arriving, the interest rate was not 1.9%, as advertised by VW, and what I tried confirming it would be. Andre came over and was again extremely rude and informed me that I had agreed to the interest rate so he wasn’t going to do anything. I left the dealership. Later, Eric emailed me and asked if there was anything they could do to get my business back. Eric was also friendly, and after several conversations and a confirmed interest rate, price of the vehicle and price for my trade, I went back and purchased the vehicle, although it was still not 1.9% on the loan.. After driving off the lot, I realized that there was a scratch on the steering wheel that had not been there when I test drove the vehicle. The dealership called and emailed me the next day demanding insurance info on the vehicle, because they had forgotten to get it while I was there. After providing them with the info, I informed them of the scratch on the steering wheel. After going back and forth with Rowe, involving Volkswagen Customer Care, and going back and forth some more with Rowe, I finally received a new steering wheel 3 months after purchasing the vehicle. They were kind enough to provide me with a rental while they performed the work. It is a shame that the dealership allows Andre to conduct business in the manner that he does, otherwise, my rating would have been significantly higher and I probably would have gone back for future vehicle purchases; however, because of my experience dealing with him, I will not return to nor recommend Rowe Auburn to anyone. More

Sold us a car they didn't have and then blamed us We were kicked out of the dealership by the General Sales Manager after they sold us a car they didn't have. They felt it was our fault for not buying We were kicked out of the dealership by the General Sales Manager after they sold us a car they didn't have. They felt it was our fault for not buying the car prior to arriving to the dealership. They definitely didn't want to own the mistake and the General Sales Manager threw a tantrum when I asked him to stop berating my wife and said they need a better inventory system to prevent future issues. Our Sales Rep was awesome as he was even apologizing as we were in the process of being kicked out, but it was an odd juxtaposition against the childish behavior of the General Sales Manager. A surreal experience of the worst customer service I've ever been exposed to. Other reviews are really positive so maybe the General Sales Manager has something going on in his personal life causing him to need to assert his authority at the dealership. Just plain bizarre. Their sister dealership in Westbrook picked up the sale and were awesome to deal with. I'd recommedn using Auburn to negotiate down a price, but purchase in Westbrook to save and avoid getting treated like garbage. More
