Hometown: Gold Beach, Oregon School: USF & Oregon State Like most about working at Wilsonville Toyota: The people and the groundbreaking business model: One Person, One Price. When not working, we spend time with our 3 kids enjoying the Pacific Northwest. We love sports and try to go to as many sporting events as possible. Some Portland area food spots on my favorites list are Ox, Mediterranean Exploration, and Pambiche. Also, Piazza Italia, a true Italian experience, is at the top of my list. Something interesting about my family: All my siblings attended OSU and my family runs a dairy distribution company in Gold Beach, OR.

We strongly object to your characterization of our team in criminal terms. We believe we communicated clearly every step of the way during this transaction, so we're really surprised to see you don't feel that way. We understand from your mom's email that you believe now that it should have only cost $20 instead of $101. That's not a realistic expectation for this key and here's why: The definition of a "standard" key just isn’t the same in 2018 as it was a few years ago. Many of us remember when you could just pop into the hardware store and get a key “cut” on a grinder for your car. Today, regardless of whether the key has lock/unlock functions, it has an engine immobilizer computer chip inside that must be programmed with specialized equipment. Here's an independent article from Consumer Reports that explains more: https://www.consumerreports.org/cro/magazine/2013/07/car-key-replacement-for-less/index.htm Before moving forward, we provided a quote for the operation stating the costs as $35.45 for the key itself and $65.99 for programming. We performed the requested work at the agreed upon price. None of the employees tagged in this review were involved in this transaction. If you'd like to discuss this further, our General Manager, Jake Hachmeister, would be happy to talk with you. 503-582-9040.

We believe we communicated clearly every step of the way during this transaction, so we're really surprised to see you don't feel that way. We're sorry our explanation wasn't clear enough on your visit. If a service adviser (who doesn't actually do this work) said it takes 3 minutes, they are simply incorrect. The definition of a "standard" key just isn’t the same in 2018 as it was a few years ago. Many of us remember when you could just pop into the hardware store and get a key “cut” on a grinder for your car. We performed the requested work at the agreed upon price. Is there any of this that you disagree with? We'd be happy to continue the conversation if you want. None of the tagged individuals in your review had anything to do with this transaction. They are sales managers. We ask you to change your tags to the actual team members involved.

Thank you for taking the time to share your perspective here. As we've already had a lengthy discussion about this issue, there's nothing we have to add here. As we've made clear, we don't believe you did anything on purpose. We haven't hidden the fact that this was Toyota's decision, based on their inspection of your vehicle. Under the same conditions, the failure would likely have occurred regardless of the manufacturer of the vehicle. We understand that it is your expectation that we, the dealership, absorb the cost to repair the vehicle even though Toyota states that the damage was caused by the vehicle operator, not a defective differential. It's fair to say we fully understand your position. Since we don't have control over the "Employees dealt with" section of the reviews, we feel it fair to point out that you tagged several individuals who had nothing to do with this issue and ensuing conversation. Since you didn't deal with Michael, Boyce, Scott, Ellie, or Josh yesterday, it seems untruthful to represent that you did. Jake Hachmeister is the General Manager of the store and he is fully aware of the issue. He is your contact for anything related to this issue here. He can be reached via email at jhachmeister@wilsonvilletoyota.com or on his direct line at 503-783-5899. We have also provided Toyota's customer assistance phone number to you in our prior communications. If there's anything new you'd like to add to the conversation, Jake is happy to continue the discussion at your convenience.
