I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Sullivan Buick GMC, particularly the handling of a major engine repair, conflicting information, communication, and documentation. In June/July 20 Sullivan Buick GMC, particularly the handling of a major engine repair, conflicting information, communication, and documentation. In June/July 2024, my 2019 Chevrolet Tahoe was brought to Sullivan for an engine issue. The dealership documented a broken #8 lifter and worn camshaft and, under warranty, replaced the camshaft and all 16 lifters. Before the repair, I personally scanned the vehicle and had time-stamped photos showing P0208 (Cylinder 8 Injector Circuit/Open) and P0308 (Cylinder 8 Misfire). I texted those photos directly to my service advisor, Brittany, on June 28, 2024. She acknowledged them and said she would get the information to the engine technician. Less than 34,000 miles later, the Tahoe developed another major lifter/camshaft problem. Sullivan diagnosed a failed #7 lifter and bad camshaft. Sullivan initially recommended replacing the entire engine for approximately $20,768, citing the vehicle's history, repeated failures, and concerns about future repairs. The proposed resolution later became another camshaft/lifter repair, with my portion approximately $8,363 after GM's Policy Evaluation Tool was used. What made this especially concerning was that Service Manager Dylan told me multiple times that another lifter/camshaft repair would essentially be a “band-aid” and that the problem would happen again. I was being asked to spend over $8,000 on essentially the same repair performed less than 34,000 miles earlier, while the Service Manager himself questioned whether it would last. There were other inconsistencies. Sullivan told me there was “no oil on the dipstick.” My husband had specifically checked the oil the night before the Tahoe was driven to Sullivan, and there was oil on the dipstick. We also had no low-oil or oil-pressure warning. When the vehicle was later removed from Sullivan, I videoed the oil being checked, and there was oil on the dipstick then as well. My greatest concern involves the documentation from the 2024 repair. When I asked Dylan what diagnostic testing had been performed, he told me the technician's notes were essentially the same as my invoice. He also stated to me in writing: “No DTC's were associated with this repair... Sometimes it can be picked up as a misfire but on yours, there was not...” I cannot reconcile that statement with my documentation. I have time-stamped photos from June 28, 2024 showing P0208 and P0308 Cylinder 8 Misfire, plus the text conversation proving I sent those codes directly to Sullivan's service advisor that same day and that she acknowledged receiving them. I repeatedly asked what diagnostic information was considered in 2024 and whether testing was performed to determine why the #8 lifter broke and the camshaft became worn, rather than simply replacing the damaged components. I never received a satisfactory explanation. I also experienced difficulty obtaining callbacks and complete answers. I ultimately escalated the matter through GM Corporate and Chevrolet Executive Resolution, but neither GM nor Sullivan provided a satisfactory resolution. My issue is not simply that an older vehicle needs an expensive repair. Vehicles break. My concern is that GM replaced the camshaft and all 16 lifters, another lifter/camshaft failure occurred less than 34,000 miles later, Sullivan's Service Manager described another repair as a “band-aid,” and statements made to me about the oil level and 2024 diagnostic codes are difficult to reconcile with the documentation I possess. I have retained the invoices, estimates, time-stamped code photos, texts, emails, video, maintenance records, and GM correspondence supporting these statements. Based on my experience with the communication, documentation, conflicting information, and handling of this matter, I will not be returning to Sullivan Buick GMC for any service work or recommending its service department. This is the worst experience I have ever had purchasing a car! They would not tell me what the figures were being presented to the bank only what the payment woud be. Most of the time it was sitting in the partking lot. If you ask me they should make 1 if not 2 payments on the vehicle since we did not have it during that time. More

Well, I called to get my Escolade serviced. Cadillac was too busy, so they took it to the GMC division. I needed a tire sensor rotation and anti-lock brake service. After two days, I was told the tires are 8 years old . After 3 days, I was told they would not change the sensors, and the anti-lock brake light would not come on. Ok, they said I need a new stabilizer bar, which I approved. In addition, they wouldn't even rotate the tires; they gave me a quote of 1900-plus for new tires. Nothing was done; 500 dollars later, I had a new Stabilizer bar. next day took the auto to Firestone they put new sensors in and rotated the tires !!!!!! More
