In all of my years shopping for a vehicle never ever have I felt SCAMMED, VIOLATED, and DISRESPECTED. This VW finance department lacks honesty, transparency, integrity and communication. I was shopping for a I felt SCAMMED, VIOLATED, and DISRESPECTED. This VW finance department lacks honesty, transparency, integrity and communication. I was shopping for a VW Cross Sport. I traveled over 100 miles away from New Jersey to this Maryland location because I thought this vehicle had a better price point. I came prepared with the check from my credit union so once I test drove the vehicle and numbers were within budget all I had to do was sign and drive. I purposely came prepared because I didn’t want to be hassled or pressured by the finance managers. After test driving the vehicle I realized I didn’t want this trim. The trim that I initially came for was out of my budget. Deyiah the finance manager came and introduced herself. She asked how could she assist with getting me in the car that I really wanted. I told her the car I really want is not in my budget. She stated several times she could get a better rate than my credit union. I told her No thank you. I told her and the other individuals at the front desk that there was no way their lenders could beat my credit union’s rate and terms. I was very adamant about not running my credit because the VW dealership I was at two months prior ran my credit. After that previous dealership ran my credit I instantly received 6 notifications from Experian Credit Bureau stating my credit score has decreased because 6 banks pulled my credit report. After that horrible experience I informed Deyiah that was the reasoning for not taking her advice to search for a better rate. So l left and went home. I never thought about the Cross Sport again once I left. I was proud of myself for remaining stern and being patient until I found exactly what I wanted under my terms and budget. The next morning I received a call from Charis my salesman. He asked if I was satisfied with my overall visit and what could he have done better. I told him he was great. He asked if there was anything he could do to assist with getting me in the vehicle I wanted. I told the vehicle I really wanted is out of my budget. He stated it’s still available if I change my mind. I started doing some research on my end and thought if I trade in our vehicle that would afford me the vehicle that I want. So I sent the message to Charis stating I’d consider trading in our vehicle to get the exact cross sport I wanted. Then I remembered how dealerships low ball the trade in value on vehicles. I contacted the finance manager Deyiah. I asked her based upon my credit history that I shared with her during our conversation Thursday if she was truly confident she could get me a better rate as she and her colleagues stated several times than my credit union. Deyiah replied yes. She informed me that she may have to try 3 banks. I said that is ok. An hour went by and all of a sudden I have 5 alerts from Experian stating my credit score has decreased because 5 banks pulled my credit report. I immediately started calling Deyiah but no one at the dealership answered. 3 and half hours go by and there aren’t any updates or communication let alone my permission to submit an application to more than 3 banks. I messaged Charis and asked if he could call me. I asked him if I there were any updates. I then asked if Deyiah was available. He said not at the moment. I asked him if he knew why my credit was pulled so many times without my permission and why hasn’t anyone updated me. He explained they’ve been very busy however, he would relay the message to Deyiah and she’d call me back once she became available. She never called me back that evening so I contacted her Saturday morning. I asked why would she send my application to more than 3 banks considering what I explained to her about my last experience. And why didn’t she get my permission before hand. I informed her of my frustration their lack of transparency and communication. All she could do was apologize. To be continued. Part 2 next. More
