They operate with a no-pressure approach, making it easy to communicate and work with them. They clearly present all options but fully respect your decisions as the buyer. Their team is knowledgeable, answering questions without any judgment or pressure. I initially texted with Sean, who was awesome and answered all my questions and responded quickly to my texts. He was unavailable on the day I planned to visit but without hesitation, he arranged for his co-worker, Juan, to assist me—if that doesn’t show how low-pressure and customer-focused they are, I don’t know what does! Juan’s background in mechanical work was incredibly helpful, as he took the time to explain the vehicle’s features and share resources for potential upgrades. The manager, David, was also fantastic—genuinely welcoming, funny, and knowledgeable. He made sure I felt confident in my choice and took the time to go over all my options, ensuring I got the best possible deal. The finance team was just as great, being upfront and transparent about costs while making sure everything was set up for the best ownership experience. And ownership experience is definitely their number one priority! Buying a car can be scary and stressful, and I say that from experience. I’ve worked with a different “certified” dealership in the past that only seemed to care about making a sale, leaving me feeling like just another number, who was stuck with a huge repair bill. Gilchrist operates on a completely different model—it’s clear they prioritize customer satisfaction and long-term relationships over quick sales. It’s no wonder they’ve been around for nearly 100 years as a family-owned business. Their commitment to honesty, transparency, and making the process enjoyable truly sets them apart. Even after my purchase, Gilchrist Auto continued to impress me with a follow-up call a week later to check in, making sure everything was going well with my new vehicle. My New Chevy Equinox EV is awesome! Great job on the EOY pricing incentives. The problem lies in the fact, I was specific about having the EV fully charged and paperwork ready to sig Great job on the EOY pricing incentives. The problem lies in the fact, I was specific about having the EV fully charged and paperwork ready to sign when I arrived. It took 2.5 hours to complete which made my drive back to Bend over 8 hours due to charging issue and traffic at Mt. Hood which I would had avoided if I left early as planned. My advice is to improve your process simply by follow your customer’s request and streamline the signing process. Nobody likes to waiting around your showroom while the team is scrambling to get the paperwork completed. The dealership looks great!
