This is a great dealership For several years, Garavel serviced my old Subaru and the shop was always great to work with. So when it was time to buy a new pre-owned car, I went o For several years, Garavel serviced my old Subaru and the shop was always great to work with. So when it was time to buy a new pre-owned car, I went online and shopped on the Garavel site. The site was easy to manage, and I soon found the car I thought was a good fit and came in to try it out. I met Dave Novik in Sales only to discover that he was in the new car part of the business. At first I felt bad that I took some of his time but instead he stayed with me through the afternoon - we did a test drive and the car was just what I was looking for and in great shape. The car fax showed that it was a 1-owner vehicle that had been originally sold and then maintained right there at Garavel, and that made me feel very confident about the whole deal. Tom Nerreau in the business office was very helpful with closing the deal and I was happy to drive away in my Subaru Outback. I recommend Garavel for both sales and service, it's a great place. More

The brand is reliable, smartlooking and reasonable, perfect for New Englanders like us. The Garavel sales and finance staff are outstanding -- professional, knowledgeable and unflappable. We have known Miles Shapiro for four years now. His personal attention and iconoclastic style -- he's an exhibiting artist as well as Garavel management -- colored our experience. It was unusual and interesting. Miles passed the torch to Dave Novik. Like Miles, Dave brought an unusual style to sales -- his background is in the music business. That coupled with his attention to detail, kind and courteous manner and persistent pursuit of us made our recent experience enjoyable., Imagine that, experience with a car dealership enjoyable! Tom Nerreu helped us with financing our last two Subarus. That means we have years of experience together. We know a lot about each other and catch up not only on the new car but also on our families. It's a treat. Mike Ruggiero in Sales is as close to a saint as you can find in this business. TAKE THE TIME TO READ THIS PLEASE. I pride myself on my impartiality so the review you are about to read will highlight the positive and negative experience I had with this dealership. I pride myself on my impartiality so the review you are about to read will highlight the positive and negative experience I had with this dealership. After spending about 18 months searching, and saving, for the vehicle I wanted, I found that Garavel Subaru had the vehicle I wanted. I was extremely apprehensive as I am weary of the stereotypical car salesman out to get the best of me. I was in contact with Dave Novik via e-mail and he did a great job of easing my fear. He was straightforward and friendly. After a few e-mails we agreed upon a sales price. He adapted to my busy schedule and came in on his day off to delivery my vehicle. The dealership is easy to get to but parking is a nightmare. Be careful where you park or your risk being towed. After a brief test drive, we sat down to sign the paperwork. The finance guy was very pushy. I told him at the outset that I wasn't interested in any extended warranties etc. He told me that I had endure his sales pitch..( I thought I was the customer here). My salesman also took me on a tour of the dealership. It soaked up time I didn't have but I understand that its kind of a "welcome to our family" thing so I'm ok with that. The overall delivery process was a bit long and I think my salesman keyed in on that and kept his explanation of the vehicle features to an appropriate length. Here's where the experience becomes less than satisfying. Prior to delivery, I e-mailed my sales representative on two separate instances asking telling him I didn't want any front license plate on my vehicle. I requested this because I didn't want any extra holes in my front bumper. During the delivery process, I went to the restroom and upon returning I saw that a license plate had been screwed into the front bumper of my brand new $30,000 vehicle. It wasn't the end of the world. After taking delivery, Dave e-mailed me for a follow up and I told him about the holes in the front bumper. He admitted that he had made a mistake and offered to send me his commission check to offset the repair. I e-mailed back and requested that he check with his peers at the dealership to determine if there was a solution that didn't entail him forfeiting his commission check. I never heard back from him. I followed up a few times with e-mails and phone calls but got nothing in return. I was disappointed that customer service had ended at the sale of the vehicle. I was disappointed that despite being offered assistance in resolution, I never heard back from the dealership. After posting my review on Dealerrater.com, I suddenly heard back from the sales rep and also the sales manager. Apparently they had never received my e-mails. I corresponded with them via e-mail a few times and, miraculously, there were no issues with them receiving my messages. The sales manager I spoke with feigned sincerity and concern and stated that he would send me the proceeds of my sales representatives commission. Apparently being a sales representative isn't very lucrative and all commissions are pinned at exactly $100.00 because that's all they all they said they would send me. So for $100.00 I now get to stare at two holes in the bumper of my $30,000 car that I asked not be put there on two separate occasions. I will stop short before saying this is a stereotypical car dealer looking to get the best of you. I will say that this dealership has a bit of an integrity issue. Not sure if this will persuade or dissuade you from purchasing a vehicle from this dealership but at the very least makes you a more aware buyer. More
