As we were signing the papers for the car, the man helping us said we should have received a description of past accidents. When he saw our deer-in-the-headlights look, he mentioned how a coworker sho helping us said we should have received a description of past accidents. In the middle of all the paperwork, we learned that the car we were purchasing was a salvaged car. Not an opportune time to find these things out... Then, not but a week or two later, my husband and I used the vehicle to travel north for our wedding weekend on the North Shore. Whilst on the way home, we heard ticking noises from the engine. Our car began shaking violently. Luckily, we were near a town with automotive services. Not but two weeks with the car, our Subaru had lost compression in one of the cylinders, making it impossible to drive home. When the car was transported to the Twin Cities, it took nearly three weeks with little communication to repair the car. Nevertheless, we received the car. They DID give us an engine with fewer miles but did not reset the mileage. All in all, my best advice for someone looking to buy a car here is to be somewhat cautious. Do not let the inexpensive pricing fool you into a poorly repaired car. Ask questions and be thorough. More
