During the purchase I requested any of the service records that you have. Or any service work you performed prior to adding the car to the lot for sale. I did not receive any of this information. Sales experience was absolutely horrendous. Service department was fine but I’ll never go back now that my free one is used. The sales experience I had at Tenvoorde Ford was the worst I hav Service department was fine but I’ll never go back now that my free one is used. The sales experience I had at Tenvoorde Ford was the worst I have ever experienced. It’s actually kind of unbelievable how hard they tried to distort the numbers in every way possible. I’ve traded many pickups at several different dealerships. Tenvoorde tried to be dishonest with the numbers three different times throughout the sales process. First, was on the “extended warranty” that they just threw in the number without telling me. Second, was on the tax, they tried to charge me full tax on the new pickup instead of on the trade difference (about a $3,500 difference). Lastly, after I had already caught them trying to fudge the numbers twice. I asked the salesman why the payments were still high and not calculating out to the number we discussed over 48 months. He even went on the same auto loan calculator site and came up with the same number I had… The number it should have been. He said he would go talk to finance. He came back and said that it would be the number we discussed when I went to sign the papers. Only to go sign the papers 45 minutes later and the payment was still at the price ($3000 more over the term of the loan) I had questioned him on before that assured me would be correct. All together they had wasted three hours of my time and I had to be on the road for work. I bit the bullet and put more on the down payment (still a decision I regret) and left feeling like I had made the worst deal of my life, but didn’t want to screw around and do it all over again. I trade often because of the miles I put on for work so I try to make it a one time deal because the process always sucks. All in all, they tried to swindle about 10k more out of me that day and I can’t help but think of all the people they have probably done this to and they never catch it. I will never say anything good about Tenvoorde, I usually don’t do these reviews because it’s not worth my time. But in this situation, I will go out of my way to make sure no one else has to experience what I did that day. It is completely unethical and not the way to do business if you want customers to return. It was that of a used car lot experience, trying to take advantage of you at every turn. Certainly not what I would expect from larger new car dealership. If you do insist on doing business with Tenvoorde, DO YOURSELF A FAVOR and make sure you back figure the numbers. I can almost guarantee that you will catch them trying to swindle more money out of you somewhere. Oil change I got there was fine and service was good. But I will use my ford points anywhere other than Tenvoorde in the future. More
