I was born and raised in Maurice, La. and became very familiar with the area and good culture of South Louisiana. When I am not at work, I love building computers and different software. Computers are one of my passions. After my time in the military, I became a mechanic here at Hampton Toyota. I was soon promoted to sales. I have been in the sales department for 3 years and sold over 500 vehicles. I enjoy selling cars which has helped me build a solid repeat and referral business. I look forward to assisting each and every person that visits our dealership.

Warning don’t buy from this place! Both of the managers will lie and twist their stories to avoid blame and will take advantage of naïve customers! On December 27, at around 6:00 PM, m Both of the managers will lie and twist their stories to avoid blame and will take advantage of naïve customers! On December 27, at around 6:00 PM, my Mother purchased a 2020 Kia sportage, paid in full from Hampton Toyota. We left the vehicle with the dealership overnight and returned the next morning to pick it up. Upon inspecting the vehicle we noticed wires hanging out where a speaker should have been and damage to the inside of the vehicle from the removal. We were not aware of the speaker’s existence until the dealership’s manager(Colin) informed us that an aftermarket speaker had been removed without our knowledge or consent. My mom and aunt were present during the conversation, and both witnessed the manager admitting that the speaker had been removed by an employee. However, when we requested compensation for the missing speaker, the dealership changed their story, suggesting the speaker could have been stolen instead. Jami(manager) claims that the dealership rarely locks their vehicles overnight which is shocking for such a big name dealership like Toyota. If this had truly been the case, we question why the dealership did not call the police or review the surveillance footage immediately after the incident occurred. The dealership also claimed that the surveillance footage was deleted after 30 days, further hindering any investigation into the incident. Despite their initial admission and changing statements, the dealership refused to compensate my Mom for the missing speaker. The dealership dismissed our concerns and is now claiming that we waited too long to file a complaint. One of the reasons we did not immediately follow up was that we were waiting on the dealership to contact us about a broken part from the incident in the car that was supposed to be repaired. We were told we would be contacted when the part arrived, but after two months, we never received any updates. Since we were already expecting a call from the dealership, we waited for them to reach out before bringing up the missing speaker again. When we finally followed up, we were told we had no legal standing because more than 30 days had passed. However, the dealership was aware of the missing speaker from the beginning and failed to take proper action at the time. We feel that the general manager tried to take advantage of the fact that we were naïve customers who were unfamiliar with dealership regulations. The dealership, on the other hand, knew their policies from the start and failed to handle the situation properly. If they truly believed the speaker was stolen, why didn’t they review security footage or report it when it first happened? Instead, they dismissed our concerns and then later used the 30-day timeframe against us. Additionally, during my conversation with the general manager, she stated that the previous owner had the right to come take the speaker out if they wanted to. This is completely unacceptable, as the vehicle was legally ours after purchase, and any modifications or components in the vehicle at the time of sale should have remained intact. This statement further proves that the dealership failed to protect our purchase and is now trying to deflect responsibility instead of admitting fault. The dealership has argued that, since my mother signed paperwork stating that no damage would be covered after 30 days of purchase, we have no legal standing to seek compensation for the missing speaker. However, this clause is irrelevant in this situation because: The speaker was removed after the sale, and the removal was not disclosed at the time of purchase. The issue is not damage but the removal of a part of the vehicle, which was a material condition of the sale that we should have been made aware of before completing the transaction. The dealership’s failure to preserve evidence and their shifting stories suggest deceptive business practices, which should not be waived by any signed paperwork. More

Our salesperson, Candace, was exceptionally helpful in clarifying the process, and taking extra time to make sure we understood the information we were being given and were on board. Our only poor experi clarifying the process, and taking extra time to make sure we understood the information we were being given and were on board. Our only poor experience was with the business manager, Charles, who used high-pressure sales technique and would not listen when we said multiple times we didn't want the extra packages during the signing of the documents. He also did not clarify well at all what we were signing. In general, all the other staff we met were very gracious and helpful. We would have given a 5-star review overall if not for the experience with the business part of the experience at the end. More
