The dealership let me see this vehicle before detailing it for it's resale in the back lot. Someone went home with the keys though so popping the hood had to be done another day. First nail in the tires no it for it's resale in the back lot. Someone went home with the keys though so popping the hood had to be done another day. First nail in the tires noticed. The next day I came back and looked. All fluid levels were low and even the Need Maint. fault lamp was lit. They started their 168 point service checks for resale. They only listed 7 items of service work performed to make her ready for resale. Brake rotors were the first comment the salesman mentioned in a text. But the new check off list handed to me the next day said breaks needed Immediate attention. There were three nails found embedded in 3 different tires before and during the test driving. By me and others in the family noticed the other two. No antenna for the radio either and in a text from Marc I was lead to believe breakpad services were being done all the way around on the vehicle. Not part of the seven items done that I read. So I asked for courtesy service inspection to be done on them. That certified them to be only 20% worn on the front and back set. The previous service reports said they needed Immediate attention. Who messed that up rushing out the reports in < 24 HRs. since seeing this car for the first time? They even dented the pristine bumper testing it for my rust complaints. They undercoated some of it for me to in other spots during that courtesy brake inspection. Someone also collapsed in the cabin roof sitting on it. It was found buckled inward on one of the back corners. The second day I owned it I noticed this. I had to use 2 suction cups to pull it back out. They wouldn't even replace the antenna on it at first. Until Chris the Sales Manager was contacted. Told him about the rust I seen in the tow hitch holes of the bumper. So they detailed it for me after my comments of detecting short animal hairs and dried up bugs in the vehicle still. Yet I still see the little short white hairs in some places now that it's done. After the detailing according to the owner of the dealership, he tells me my drivers seat is going to need a seat cover soon. Can't fix that for you. During this complimentary detailing, they jammed up my emergency rain jacket packed in a ziplock baggie under the seat, as they jacked the passengers seat all the way back to do this detailing. Frankly Speaking I don't see how this Detailing Job has fixed anything I was unhappy about in this sale? What would have worked was a new bumper, a new drivers seat and spare tire or cargo rack add-on. Thanks for the Antenna by the way. Buying a used car for me has always been like a bad trip to xxxx and back. I jumped on this sale the minute it was up for grabs, and not waiting for any possible markdowns. Just waiting and hoping to get a better deal on it. They go too fast on the market. So I gave them over $18,000.00 for this vehicle in CASH. Well I still need a light weight tow hitch package put on her to make it ready for my adventures. I did not need a few dents in it's rear bumper to ad character either. Also had to recondition the spare tire on her as well. Because it wouldn't have been safe to use it in another 5 years that way. The paint job on the rim was already rusting along the rims weld joints. The hoist for it was rusting up a bit too. These are the types of things my $18,000.00 should have covered to help make the customer happy. Even if it isn't a brand new VW your selling. For $18,000.00, a little corrosion prevention, spare tire restoration, re-upholstery work on the driver seat, maybe a new rear bumper, or lugusury addon like a roof rack or vendor sponsored tow packages adon would have made me a much happier customer. You flipped this vehicle to me after only one day in the service shop, I didn't want a rush job done on this part. I felt all I got was 1 days worth of service work on my $18,000.00 purchase from you. More
