Went to Wilde East Towne Honda yesterday and was extremely unimpressed to say the least. My wife and I have a Honda civic and wanted to upgrade to a small suv/crossover. We walked around outside looking at cars for about 15 minutes and then a salesperson approached us asking if we had any questions. We had 2 cars in mind that we wanted to look at and test drive: the HR-V and the CR-V. When we told him we would like to test drive the HR-V he told us it would drive the exact same as our Honda civic. So we explained that we would still like to see the HR-V and compare/contrast it to the CR-V. Again, this salesman rudely said it’ll drive the exact same as your civic. (Now in my opinion, if I wanted to upgrade to the new 2025 civic, would I not be allowed to test drive it because it’s the same exact car as my 2019 civic? A car is a very large purchase and I should be able to test drive and get a feel for how I like the car and if it’s something I can see myself enjoying.) The HR-V we were interested in test driving the salesman said “oh I know the battery is dead in this one since it’s just been sitting”, but didn’t even offer to find another HR-V we could test drive, “because it drives exactly like your civic”. Very poor salesman if you ask me, definitely not someone who’d like to make a sale. After this he told us he had both models inside that we could go look at and sit in to get a feel for it, and while we were looking told us he’d go get keys for the CR-V for us to test drive. While we looked inside at these two vehicles for about another 15 minutes, this salesman stood at the front desk talking to other coworkers and eventually we decided to leave and go look at another dealership. As we were leaving we saw him at the front desk scrolling through his phone-definitely not looking for some keys for us to go test drive. This salesman just lost a sale. We had just gotten pre approved at the bank for a loan prior to coming this dealership, so we were not just there to waste anyone’s time. This is the second time this has happened to us at Wilde East Towne Honda. When car shopping for our civic we also received terrible service. At that time at least the salesperson allowed us to test drive a vehicle, but would not sit down with us and go over numbers. He pushed us off like we were wasting his time. So the next day we went to the Honda dealership on the west side where we purchased a brand new 2019 Honda civic. We figured 6 years later we would get better service so we gave Wilde East Towne Honda another shot, and that was a big mistake and waste of our time. Last night we drove over to the west side and stopped at 2 dealerships. The second was the Honda dealership and we hadn’t realized they closed at 7pm. We arrived at 6:56 and were immediately acknowledged and asked if we needed help. We asked if we could test drive the CR-V because after being allowed to sit in one at the East side, we knew we were interested in this car. Even though they closed in 4 minutes they still were happy to get us keys and let us test drive this car. After test driving the CR-V we’ve decided that’s a great car for our family so we’ll be purchasing a $40,000 car and giving our business to Zimbrick Honda. It’s a further drive for us, but definitely worth the excellent customer service we received. I wish we could say the same for Wilde East Towne Honda, but we will never recommend this due to poor service, not once but twice. More
