I have a huge problem with the service center at Lynn Layton. I bought my vehicle from Lynn Layton because the sales team was so amazing, but I have NEVER had knowledgeable, skilled, or respectful servic Layton. I bought my vehicle from Lynn Layton because the sales team was so amazing, but I have NEVER had knowledgeable, skilled, or respectful service done in their service center. I basically have to use them for oil changes because they are the only Ford that is convenient distance from my home. However, I am so frustrated after my recent visit, that I won’t even do that anymore. I will take a day off work, or waste a Saturday driving to ANY other dealership before I go back to Lynn Layton. First, every time I discuss anything related to the vehicle with the service team, I am very obviously dismissed (I am a woman). No, I do not know a lot, or much of anything about the internal structure of cars, BUT I do know my car shouldn’t sound like I have a subwoofer attached underneath it. (P.S. it was an exhaust leak (which was an active recall at the time) that another Ford dealership diagnosed AND repaired, along with several other recalls, within a week of Lynn Layton telling me nothing was wrong with the car.) Second, both I, and my husband, have been lied to about work they claimed to have completed. Within a year of purchasing the car, the window switches began to peel. Completely common, but we asked for them to be replaced. Lynn Layton “ordered the switches” and claimed they replaced them. When my husband picked up the car, the original window switches were STILL in the car. The service team member proceeded to argue that he had changed them. So, his argument was that NEW window switches came out of the box already peeled and worn. This last visit, which was an oil change, I was told that the other dealership had improperly installed/repaired the cam phasers (which you cannot see without pulling valve covers, etc, which they did not do, so how could they diagnose that correctly?) and that they (Lynn Layton) would not fix them (unless we paid) because it was a workmanship issue from another dealership). I am just exhausted with being dismissed, ignored, and LIED to from a service team that people regularly use and are supposed to trust to repair their vehicles. I am finished using Lynn Layton. I truly hope others have/have had better experiences with this team. More
