UNFORGIVABLE service towards a Veteran! I still can't believe that it's been almost a year now since my Marine son walked into this dealership asking for help to get a car. I qualified to I still can't believe that it's been almost a year now since my Marine son walked into this dealership asking for help to get a car. I qualified to buy a car for him on my own and had good credit. He asked me to cosign because his credit had fallen. I knew better but, agreed. The deal didn't work out after giving them my credentials so, I was relieved. It appeared that they weren't willing to lend on the vehicle he wanted due to age/mileage. Approximately 10 days later I get paperwork in the mail congratulating me on purchasing a vehicle from them WITHOUT my knowledge. I immediately called them and let them know what I thought about them giving my son a 25% ir ! I asked them how they thought that was ethical NOT contacting me after the deal didn't go through? They stated that they could go pick up the car if I wanted. How did he get a 25% ir when I cosigned? They used his credit to get them a BIGGER deal obviously. I could have gotten the car on my own by myself for him. My son ended up losing his job shortly after and I called the Mgr Brandon who requested things from me then NEVER returned a phone call! In comparing him to my sons Salesperson I couldn't tell you who was WORSE. I'm in a different state 5 hrs away and the lender stated the deal shouldn't have went through. I noticed they put the papers in our old address in Indiana but, mailed them to our new address in Illinois. I tried working out something with them when my son couldn't make the pmts. We were willing to turn the car in and my car to trade for something but, they were too busy since they already got their deal. The car was picked up by a repo truck but, the lender Santander out of Texas denies it was them. We immediately called the police and reported the vehicle stolen. The car didn't even have plates yet. I also found out that the car wasn't insured. Rayskillman stated that was a first and that they couldn't tell me who the insurance was with. I let them know that Approximately 6 days after the car disappeared my son was found dead in his apartment in Indianapolis. I'm sure that PTSD, losing his job, car, etc contributed. The dealership never even said sorry, SAD! The police visited and ofcourse their was no trackers. The Police stated that they believed Santander Consumer from Texas probably had someone pick it up since they knew my son was having trouble paying. He was just one month behind. Santander denies allegations but, the Dealership themselves don't like to use them but, OBVIOUSLY will to get a deal done. I visited them after my son passed to get some paperwork and luckily for Brandon and the Salesperson they were off that day. I wish I could remember the guy in charge in the office to the left who offered me a soda and apologized to me about everything. That guy even texted me the following day to make sure we made it home and to see how we were doing, he genuinely cared, I appreciated him. Feb 12th will be a year that the car went missing and STILL no car! I don't have my son and I don't have his car. RaySkillman knows what they did was NOT right. If I had it to do over again I would have sued them after they picked up the car that they processed my credentials without my permission! I LOVED my son more than anything and didn't want to do that to him but, I would have NEVER said yes to a 25% ir when I could have gotten him something myself. Santander out of Texas called for pets and knew the car didn't have insurance and NEVER told me. They admitted knowing and said in Texas they weren't obligated to. It's been absolutely SAD that a mom has to go through this. The Dealership couldn't tell me any insurance info and OFCOURSE stated that it was a first for them. They had no words. It took 3 weeks to find the insurer only to find it had lapsed. The Dealership cared about a SALE! My son was a USMC vet for our country and he deserved better!!! More
