Unprofessional customer service from the car sales

I've repeatedly asked for cost breakdown (can provide documentation) and kept getting a vague answer about taxes in NJ vs Ohio, and paying extra because this vehicle I'm leasing has extra options. The day I flew in, 31 Jan, to pick up the car, they could not give me a breakdown of what my $7500 downpayment is paying for. Nor could they answer my question about the different between 24 and 36 months lease options, other than 36 months is better for them! I specifically also asked about the monthly payment if my downpayment was only $999 to try to calculate the taxes, fees, registration, and the answer I got was it was too late for them to make changes to my paperwork. Even though I asked about the details before I flew in, and the reply was that all the details will be ready and broken down for me on 31 Jan. When I tried to understand the cost breakdown on 31 Jan, the car sales associate was not able to answer, and got a person who gave me a paper that shows it is because it is $299 a month for 36 months. I told them this math does not add up and can you please provide a breakdown as to what my $7500 is paying for. They said the finance manager is working on it. When it was time for the finance manager to be ready, he also couldn't answer that question other than it is tax different between NJ and Ohio, and the value of money depreciations over time. I said ok I want to make only the $999 down payment plus fees as advertised, the response was it was too late for that because the paperwork is done. It was extremely unprofessional. Moreover, I emailed the car sales associate on 1 Feb, asking where to find the cable and emergency kit that supposedly I had to pay for, but no reply yet. I also emailed the finance manager to help me identify where the $5700 dealer discount is captured on the lease paperwork, also no reply. I can provide documentation if needed.

Actually, my question was and remains the same and unanswered. I asked for a breakdown of the down payment. No one could answer that. Every other VW dealership that I dealt with after you had no issue providing the breakdown up front. I can provide you all these details. We are in the market for a second ID 4, and it is alarming how your team was and is still unable to provide the breakdown. I was told on the phone numerous times that I'll see it upon arrival. Not sure why it was not shared before I flew there. Moreover, even on the day when I arrived, no one could provide that. I'm still looking for it if you can provide it. I can share with you all the breakdown I got from other VW dealers just this week. Your team was non responsive, I can provide the emails to you to prove it if you are interested in reviewing facts. Your finance manager is yet to reply to an email from 1 Feb. Your Sales associate is non responsive after the sale (before the sale she was), I'm still missing items that I paid for as part of the car like the cable and kit that I never got. He replies are basically questions back to me, the last is that she has to ask a manager about a solution and that she would get me an answer by 1 PM on 6 Feb. I never heard back. Again, if you have any interest in the documentation, I can provide it. I am still waiting for a breakdown of the cost and the items I paid for but never got. I will file a BBB next week, I'm just too busy this week.

Received a phone call from the manager at Prestige (Brett). Initially I made the assumption that he was the person who replied to the online review above. It was clear that it was either a pre-typed standard reply or that only one side of the story was taken into account. The notion that I was helped to get approved sounds ridiculous, especially that I just signed another lease through VW (just like the initial one), and saw on the breakdown that VW considered my application a tier 1 (740+ score). Makes the statement of the online respondent from Prestige lacking to say the least. To be fair, Brett clarified that he wants to hear both sides and that he wasn't the person who completed the online reply. I apologized for assuming it was him. I basically explained and followed up in writing that I have two main issues: 1- Bad customer service through lack of responsiveness, especially from the finance person who never replied. 2- My missing items that I am liable for at lease end. Brett was responsive and provided great customer service. To the point that I informed him that if they have a 2024 ID4 S available, I'll get my second one from him. Unfortunately, Brett didn't have any S trims, but had an AWD Pro. We debated considering the AWD Pro over the S. But, ultimately, my wife decided to stick with the S. Otherwise, I would've done business again with Brett at Prestige. He also explained that he instructed the finance person to hold off on replying since Brett got involved. Which is understandable. Frankly, I would not have even filed a review here if the finance person was responsive. I waited about 5 days before filing this review where the finance person did not reply. The sales person's replies were questions rather than answers about the two missing items. But the sales person gave a deadline of finding a resolution but never followed there. Brett assured me they'll mail the two items, and also explained to me that I'll need them at lease end to be returned. His advise and actions are appreciated. I'll attribute the lack of customer service/responsiveness and the rapid online reply above to possibly lack of experience or training. Bottom line, the service received from Brett to correct and resolve my issues is appreciated. Which is why we would've done business with Prestige again if they had an S trim. In short, the way Prestige reacted through Brett, turned a negative experience into a positive outcome. It transformed me back to being a repeat customer. I would do business again with Prestige, as long as Brett is involved. I sincerely believe Brett took or will take action to ensure future customers will not have my after sale experience. Thank you Brett for your time and mailing my two missing items.

Our sales rep, Von Roach, was very friendly, knowledgeable, and understanding of our needs. She is very proud of the company and the vehicles she sells. I would not hesitate to contact Von for future needs and would recommend her to anyone in need of purchasing a new or used car.
