My experience with Brad was fantastic. He was attentive to my questions and was a straight shooter. I would have given the experience 5 stars if it weren't for the sales manager agreeing t He was attentive to my questions and was a straight shooter. I would have given the experience 5 stars if it weren't for the sales manager agreeing to a price as long as I made my decision that day since I was planning to take the vehicle for an extended test drive. I held up my end and got back to the dealership within a couple of hours of taking the truck off the lot and decided it was the one I wanted to buy at the price we had verbally agreed upon, again, with the stipulation that the offer was only good through the close of business that day. When I got back to the dealership the sales manager then pulled the bait and switch and told me it was now a different price. I even offered to split the difference, but they told me they had it sold for more at wholesale. I left the dealership frustrated and fully prepared to go buy elsewhere as I did the last time I was looking for a vehicle and we ended up buying a brand new 2021 Explorer from Bo Bueckman. The next morning they called me and were willing to accept my offer to meet halfway on price. This was after they knew I was on my way to St Louis to look at another truck at Bo Bueckman just like I did when I bought my 2021 Explorer. I know this is all part of the negotiation game, but it's a bad sales practice to verbally agreed upon a price with the stipulation that it's good through close of business and then go back on that offer when I come in to close. If that were to happen again, it would be the last time dealing with Machens. More
