UPDATE: Tamiami Hyundai was a Tale of Two Cities for purchasing my car for delivery to New York: 5 stars for the sales department, 1 star for the service department in prepping my car for sale. Purch purchasing my car for delivery to New York: 5 stars for the sales department, 1 star for the service department in prepping my car for sale. Purchasing a Hyundai vehicle in Naples, Florida when the ultimate destination is New York is not a typical transaction for an automobile dealership. I walked in merely browsing, but then I floated the idea of transporting the vehicle if the deal was right. In this regard, I have to give the lion’s share of complements to my salesperson, Brad Camino. Mr. Camino was crystal clear in things that he knew about my car and how this could be arranged, but unusual for anyone in a workplace, he sought clarity elsewhere when there was something he didn’t know. Furthermore, he was the best salesperson I have ever encountered in more than 40 years purchasing automobiles AFTER the deal was already completed when there were still a number of items I required for transportation and having the correct paperwork and documents to title my car in New York. Honorable mention complements go to the Comptroller, Denise Sovko, who confirmed receipt of my wire, Jeff Stall who contacted me regarding the status of my paperwork for New York, and finally, Director of Operations Joy Zellers Rautenkranz, who followed up to make sure everything had gone smoothly. The transportation company was so good, my car arrived one day ahead of schedule. I give the entire Sales Team 5 Stars. I could have used 5-Star preparation, however, from the Service Department. My particular car had been on the lot for months prior to sale. And although it was well cleaned and all the manuals and physical items included, it needed better electronic prep. New cars, and especially, EVs, are basically computers on wheels. Software updates had not been made, including a known Hyundai Bluelink failure that with a large number of cars. Mine was affected. The service department left the Bluelink as not working when it was delivered to me. And because the car would be used in New York, I needed the two front windows to not be tinted, a process that Tamiami Hyundai said they do on all cars for sale in Florida. Despite written confirmation that my windows would NOT be tinted, they did so anyway. As a result, my car failed inspection in New York until the tint was removed. Just a few days after receiving my car, I contacted Hyundai and they made arrangements for these issues to be addressed at my local dealer, just days after receiving the car, a nuisance. Would I purchase a car again in Florida for delivery to New York. Absolutely, if the price was right. But there's a risk - this dealer was eager to rid themselves of a car that sat unsold on their lot for months. They were so glad to be rid of it, that their service department failed to properly prep it for me. The dealership also gets a ding for not replying to me when I brought up that they tinted the windows against their written promise that it wouldn't be done. The Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, by the way, is a spectacular vehicle. It's fun to drive and has more driving and vehicle options to truly customize your experience. It's a true Tesla Y killer. Its only failure is it is the only car at a $68,000 MSRP level that doesn't included motorized front seat adjustments. More

Ya know. .I've bought a lot of cars in my life..never had i ever bought a car from a quality dealership where they didn't fill up the gas on delivery. Secondly, to not accept a bank check for the car was just a bit overboard to have to send sales person with me. It wasn't like it was a 100k car. In fairness..I do that myself if I'm doing a 1-on-1 deal with a personal deal. But I was not warm fuzzy with this kind of dealings with a large dealership. Seemed quite tacky!! All, just a food for thought. But the tank of gas thing should always be a must..in my eye it reflects on what's more important to the dealership..which indicates $ is number 1 and relationships are 2nd. Thanks, Mike More
