TL;DR: Predatory tactics, shady pricing, and deceptive fees —plus they supposivly gave me another customer’s $500 by mistake and asked for it back later. I originally came in for a 2021 blue Mustang GT that was listed on their website, but they claimed they couldn’t find it. Instead, they showed me a 2022 grey Mustang GT, tagged at $39,900, but listed online for $37,399. Somehow, they gave me an out-the-door (OTD) price of $45,600 without a breakdown or explanation. They then pressured me into putting down a nonrefundable $1,000 deposit, claiming someone else with cash was ready to buy the car. Not wanting to lose the car (which had low miles and a clean Carfax), I agreed. Later, while signing the finance papers, I noticed too late that the price had been increased again—this time to $48,696. After reviewing the numbers, it appears they charged me for the same things more than once and taxed me multiple times. Yes, I should have caught it sooner—but as a first-time buyer unfamiliar with dealership tactics and financial jargon, I got taken advantage of. They saw someone inexperienced and used every trick in the book. I love the car, but it should not have cost me this much. The extra fees and deceptive pricing made the entire experience feel like a scam. Also if that wasn’t bad enough: after the deal was done, they contacted me asking for $500 back. They had included that money in my finance envelope—claiming afterward it was actually another customer’s deposit and their deal was being held up because of it. I assumed it was a rebate or incentive, since no one explained otherwise. More
