
Bill has been in the automotive business and with Koons for over 33 years, starting when he was just 18 years old. He became a Service Advisor in 1978. Bill is happily married to his wife Jenny and he has three children: Becky, Rob, and David. His family also has two dogs, two cats, and three parrots. Bill enjoys playing golf and fishing. He also is a supporter of the Philadelphia Eagles.

Koons Chevrolet Buick GMC Tysons lied about the finding an “excessive amount of metal in the oil” of my 2016 Corvette ZO6, which only had 5864 miles. They quoted me $24,185.50 for a replacement engine as t an “excessive amount of metal in the oil” of my 2016 Corvette ZO6, which only had 5864 miles. They quoted me $24,185.50 for a replacement engine as the “engine was blown”. I requested a sample of the oil that they tested so I can send in the oil to Blackstone for an independent oil analysis. I also went to a high-end sports car mechanics shop for a second opinion (American High Performance based out of Lorton VA). I needed a high-performance shop to diagnose the supercharger blower as I felt like the noise was coming from the supercharger area. I also requested for them to pull an oil sample from the car. I never let the car out of sight and stood in the mechanics bay watching every move. When the car was lifted in the air, we checked the front right shock that was supposedly blown and the mechanic was in agreement with me that someone at Koons Tysons fraudulently smeared the oil from the top of the shock to the bottom trying to emulate a blown shock. They also indicated that the noise was coming from the top of the block and not the bottom. I got a lab test of the oil that was handed to me by Bill Appel at the dealership as well as the oil that I received from American High Performance. The oils were two completely different colors. I received the results back from Blackstone on 10-8-2024. The results are conclusive that no excessive metal was found in either sample that I sent them. They also verified that the two oil samples were not the same and were actually different confirming that Koons Tysons VA was conducting in fraudulent activities and if I did not double check, may have spent the $24,185.50 for the replacement engine that they claimed was "blown". I would never trust this dealership with any service or purchase. More

I got to Koons about ten minutes before my 0800 appt. Bill Apple came right out to greet me and start my 5K service. We discussed the engine air filter as I had a question.
