NIGHTMARE My purchase of a used 2024 Ford Edge with "no blemishes or damage" has been a nightmare. I took ownership of the vehicle after a brief walk around in the DUSK and a quick test drive. Since I live out-of-State, the sale had been negotiated ahead of time. The vehicle was taken "to be detailed" and came back to me, in the DARK, still CAKED with Midwest dirt within the wheels, trailer hitch (an inch deep), door jams and complete undercarriage. The vehicle came home and spent the night in the driveway. During the light of day, a better walk around was taken in which we could see the extent of the condition of the vehicle and wipe off some of the dirt with a cloth ...and found 3 separate PROBLEMS/DAMAGE. I called Salem but wasn't able to get in touch with the SM, Brandon, for a full day. I presented pictures of a blurry backup camera (vehicle was conveniently backed into a spot at the dealership so I never needed to view that camera), a damaged sidewall on the front driver's side tire (what a SAFETY issue!! ) and a scraped up and damaged wheel (black powder coat). Brandon was going to talk to Armando, Regional GM, and the service dept. and get back to me. He NEVER did. After calling a few times the following day I was told that I can use the warranty to have a dealership near me fix the camera but claims they did not sell me the vehicle with the other damage (funny the camera was missed but 100% certain to not have missed the tire and wheel 🙄). Tell me how the tire has SHINE SPRAYED INSIDE THE LARGE GASH if it wasn't there when they took care of the vehicle? How is the tire gash opposite the location of the scraped wheel if you think I hit a curb in my curbless driveway? Brandon refused to accepted the vehicle back even thought their dealership promoted a 3 day exchange policy ON THIS ONLINE LISTING (and I was still within 3 days) and claimed that the 14-day return policy on this Ford Gold Certified vehicle was not something their dealership participated in. Armando has not once answered or returned my phone calls. The online listing had a picture of a tire sensor light, rear passenger side, in which I was told that was all taken care of. Well 1 week in and I'm still putting air in that tire. So in 1 week, I already need 2 new 21" tires ($$$), a camera replaced/repaired and a full inspection from a TRUSTED Ford dealer. Salem Ford is not that dealership and it's big financial lesson to learn. Stay away at all costs....or it will cost you so much extra to deal with them because they won't be honest about it. They paid so much attention to detail that when asked for a copy of my license, I provided them with two IDs, combined in the same picture, as there would be two owners on the title. I explained what I wanted the title to state and was texted back, "fine". When it came time to sign the paperwork, the 2nd owner was not listed and his ID was cropped out of the picture. New paperwork needed to done. Oh, also conveniently, after using their trade-in tool and stating my vehicle was in rough condition online, because it was 19 years old, they told me in person it was a great smooth ride, better than expected but since they would be scraping it, the rust by the back wheel wells diminished the value by $200...AFTER negotiating a $250 price decrease in the 2024 purchase. Yes, very, very coincidental, I'm sure. I'm putting more than $1,000 into this 2024 GOLD CERTIFIED vehicle just to get it into working SAFE condition and who knows what else MY TRUSTED dealership will find. Thank God that will never be Salem Ford again. More

I purchased my third car from this dealership in May of 2022. It was a used SVU. I didn't want a SVU, I wanted a Sedan but Ford in their infinite wisdom stopped selling them. The new car's were 40K, too p 2022. It was a used SVU. I didn't want a SVU, I wanted a Sedan but Ford in their infinite wisdom stopped selling them. The new car's were 40K, too pricy and not worth the price. My 2018 Ford ECO Sport had 69,000 on it. I thought it was pretty good. We asked if there were any other ones and he said no. Found out two days later there was a 2021 model for 5K more but they didn't give us a choice. So I came to the conclusion after the past two years they purposedly sold us a lemon. My Turbo blew out on the highway, they fixed and and driving home my car overheated because their service technician didn't properly put on a clamp to the radiator. Was going 65mph in the middle lane when a light came on "Engine Overheated" Car went into lower power mode, no accelerator. I barely got over to the breakdown lane. Next my Heat went. The price to replace my heater core was insane. I drove around through the winter with no heat because I couldn't afford to get it fixed. I had been emailing the service manager and explained I couldn't afford it and he graciously gave me an employee discount and a loaner. They had my car for seven weeks as after the replaced my heater core was replaced the heat was intermittent. They replaced just about everything. Heating and Cooling. When I picked it up I found my windshield to be broken when I was driving away. I went back and was apologized by the service advisor but then then Rude and Ignorant assistant service manager got in my face and said the technician told Gerry it was broken when it came in. Yet seven weeks and I wasn't informed? It was not broken prior even my windshield guy said the break was caused on the inside of the windshield. Cost me over $500 to replace. I left multiple voicemails and sent multiple emails with ZERO communication back. A couple months after this my heat stopped working and I had enough of this dealer and incompetent service technicians. Ray and Shontel the service advisors are the only good thing about this dealership. They didn't respond to my Email regarding the new issues. I brought my car to Auto Fair Ford and they diagnosed my car had a blown engine. It was not covered under warranty and it was going to cost me $6700 which I didn't have. In speaking with my service advisor Bill I mentioned about the Turbo being replaced and the heating and Cooling system. I gave him all the work orders and he spoke with Ford and they determined the engine failure was do to the work done at Salem Ford. So in the end I have a brand new engine and Turbo. Also, another radiator since they screwed that install up also. My recommendation is stay far aware from this Dealership. More
