While we strive to exceed customer's expectations in everything we do, sometimes we don't live up to that. In this case, it was a reflection of my leadership that I did not communicate better to my staff as to the process of locating a vehicle for our guests when we don't have it in stock. It was a learning experience for myself and my staff as we have reviewed and refined our processes. Hyundai of St Augustine responded

Thank you for the candid feedback regarding your experience with our dealership. As I explained on the phone and in my email, I am sincerely sorry for the treatment you received at my dealership. As stated, I have met with my staff to discuss what we did wrong in the transaction about not verifying the condition and mileage of the vehicle we were securing. They made the assumption it was not a demo vehicle and they were wrong in making that assumption without calling our other dealership first. We have immediately refunded your $5000 deposit. The only reason I didn't offer anything to get the deal done was I got the impression you did not want to do business with us anymore (a mistake on my part for not offering anything to rectify the situation.) I would be more than happy to special order a car directly from Hyundai and discount the car an additional $500 if we can earn your business, but I understand if you choose not to do business with us. Again, as the owner of the company, please accept my sincere apology. It is a reflection of my guidance and leadership that this situation occured and I am embarassed by it. I take full responsibility of the situation and have learned from the errors in my ways of not communicating to my staff in a better way.
