Motorhomes Specialists have the WORST warranty service - lopperman1914
Motorhomes Specialists have the WORST warranty service department I have ever encountered. Our motorhome went back several times with the same issues unresolved. The first time, we went to fetch the motorhome after 2 months for a preplanned trip. Nothing had been done but they promised us that driving it with unfixed warranty issues would not void the warranty. The next time we had the same issue. They had the grace to be embarrassed by having done nothing again when we went to fetch it and serviced the generator (not under warranty) for free as though this was good customer service. After the next trip, our water heater (one of the early warranty issues) had damaged the side of the motorhome and was at risk of falling out of the RV. The stink from the vent stack was also still an issue from the first time we returned it and it had not been fixed. The service manager Justin Pongratz never returns calls and does not check email. He communicates the minimum to his serve technicians who tell us they are not allowed to fix anything more than exactly what he says. I suspect his communication with the manufacturer is equally poor - the reason why warranty work requests were denied. We arrived a third time to pick up the motorhome to find the water heater would still further damage the side of the motorhome and was a fire hazard, even though they claimed to have worked on it. Plus, the stink had not been fixed but now we were told that we had voided the warranty on the stink by overfilling the black tank - even though the stink was a problem with the vent stack, not the black tank. And that was after we were told to drive the RV without the warranty repairs because they had not bothered to do anything while they had the RV on site. Stephen Evans is apparently the big service boss. He told us Justin is his best manager and begged us to give Justin another chance to make things right. If this is his best technician, I'd hate to see the worst. When we went to fetch the motorhome this time with nothing done on these 2 issues again, I had to demand that Mr. Evans come and look at the RV for himself and tell me things were OK. He did not do so, but based on my description of the water heater, he did make Mr. Pongratz replace the water heater and the door to the water heater, which was done. However, I am now going to have to do battle regarding the pervading stink from the vent stack - of a $250,000 RV!! My advice is DO NOT EVER DO BUSINESS WITH MOTORHOME SPECIALISTS. They will screw you over every step of the way. Especially do not trust the word of either Mr. Justin Pongratz or Mr. Stephen Evans. They give you the good-old-boy charm, but their word is meaningless.
