I came in the dealership on Saturday and found a car that - Disappointed Customer
I came in the dealership on Saturday and found a car that I was very interested in. I have been looking for a while. It was the 2023 Cadillac XT5. The price sticker on the window said $35,572.00. I told the salesman Brian I was interested in the car. He did tell me later on that the car had been missed priced that the website had it listed at $ 37,522, but he had spoken with his manager and the sticker price would be honored. It was already almost 7:00 Saturday evening and I did not want to keep Brian there late. I told him I like to research what I am buying and would call him first thing Monday and let him know what I had decided. I called him Monday and told him I wanted the car. He told me he was off so I said I hate to bother you on your day off, but I want the car and will go online and start the borrowing process. Something went wrong on the application, I called the office a couple of times and asked to speak to financing. I left a voicemail and never received a call back. Brian called the next day and I told him the issue I had and he sent me a new link which worked or so I thought. The finance guy called and said there system wasn't working correctly and he would have to take my information over the phone. I get another call from the sales manager saying the price I was told more than once would be honored is no longer being honored due to incorrect information. He told me they were raising the online price to $39,522 (which is over the kelly bluebook value ), but would still let me have it for the $37,522 price. I know the price difference is only $1,567 from what we started out with at the $35,955 window sticker, but it is the principal of the matter. Kenny offered to give me an extra $1,000 for my traded in to get the cost back down, which leaves me owing a little over $500 more than was quoted on the deal sheet that had been printed out on Saturday. I really like the car and can deal with the $500 difference, but knowing dealership is not honoring things they told me makes me concerned about the continuing business. I was also told several times if I make the purchase the car could be brought to me, then was told no we cannot do that. Then they told me I needed to put $2,000 down over the phone on a credit card to hold the car for when I was ready to pick on Saturday or it would be sold to anyone else that was interested. Even though I had been approved with excellent credit. At that point I was done. What horrible service!
